Halo: Reach Theater Clips

Hey guys, I was wondering if there is a way to get the theater clips from the Xbox 360 Hard Drive to my computer. I tried copying the clips to a USB drive and plugged it into my pc to see if they would show up, but no luck. Is it even possible to transfer the theater clips to a pc? Thanks!

The only way to get them is by connecting your Xbox up to either an external capture card or a capture card inside your PC, you can record the clips that way. Other than that - if you have an Xbox One you can use the built in Game DVR to record clips, or you could stream the game to a Windows 10 PC and use Windows Game batlr to record clips (I’ve never tried this method though)

The method depends on what you want to do! If you want to make videos out of them, you need to realise that those files aren’t video files. They’re just data, and software on your PC and phone doesn’t understand them. The data is meant for Halo Theather, which can read it and recreate the game that was ‘recorded’. It’s actually a beautiful system, because those files are very small, and it enables the huge creative freedom you have in Theater.

On methods to make videos out of your Theater clips, from easy and -Yoink- quality to expensive but great quality:

  1. Point a camera at your screen
  2. Use Xbox One DVR system
  3. Buy a capture card

If you just want to make a backup of the files, so you still have them if your Xbox Hard Drive crashes (like I do), you can do so with your USB stick and some software. Guide on backup up Xbox360 Data
