Hey guys, I just logged into Halo Reach today and my Tag had changed. When I tryed to change it back it gave me service tag not allowed, anyone know whats up with that? I have been using that tag since the 1st day of release untill yesterday. Only stoped working today.
My tag was S 13.
Maybe you’re not allowed to use spaces.
Microsoft has REALLY turned up the sensitivity of the profanity filter recently.
For my XBL account my quote has always been “Midland Base Founder” I went to change something else and was told my quote violated the ToS. Had to change it to “MidlandBase Founder” so apparently the word “base” is suddenly naughty.
Other words that will get you when saving maps / screenies / clips are assault, kill, bomb, etc. even though the GAME ITSELF puts those words in there when you choose auto name & save.
But I guess you can’t really blame them with all the immature kiddies using 'leet to try and write their vulgarities and profanities around the filter that had been in place. The many suffer for the malfeasance of the few.

Yeah I tried to write my catch phrase in my bio and got a 1 day ban for having “friggin” in it.

If Microsoft have stepped up on restrictions for service tags I am not surprised. Idiots have been using offensive or outright stupid tags for months now.
Bungie should of stuck with the 1 letter 2 numbers system.

I agree, but that that sucks hard. It’s silly how the little things can be blown out of proportion
It’s not just tags…certain Forge map names have also been called “bad” (such as a couple of mine that had “Base” in the name).
Apparently the number 13 is also forbidden. Stupid Micro$haft.

Exactly, this is why I think it’s a Microsoft problem but they are unaware of it, the whole censor crashed one day, resulted in swears in Gamertags and swears in Service Tags on Reach.
There is still something wrong with it if it’s adding random things like this.
in Reach Ive seen people with profanity as their service tags without being censored but I cant even use my name, Cody! WTH?
