So I was reading a topic in the Halo 4 forum and I found someone who quoted this… I’m kind of curious if this is really how it is, with Halo 3 population from 24 hours, while Reach is all online right now… I had thought, like many people do, that both were all online currently. So if you know the answer, please post, and try not to flame the game or other people…

You can go to bungie.net to check that out.

Both in-game numbers are CORRECT and are the players at the current time, the number updates every 15 minutes from when you first login to Reach & Halo 3.

However, if I am correct, Reach only shows people who are playing games in Campaign, Multiplayer, Custom Games, Forge or Theater.

While Halo 3 showed people doing all that plus when they were in the lobby.

So in all, you can NOT compare them.

Here is another tidbit from B.net on the Halo:Reach population counter.
