HALO REACH: PLAYLISTS NEED A CHANGE 343!

So, me and my friends are really big into getting achievements, just like a whole lot of other Xbox gamers, we love achievement hunting. And lately this summer we have been going back and trying to get all the achievements for all the HALO games, and we are now stuck in a situation on HALO REACH where it is literally impossible for us to get these last 3 achievements we need for the anniversary map pack. Because 343 industries have made it so that there is only a anniversary classic playlists. So we literally cannot get these achievements

• Emergency Room - Infect 3 players in a single round in a match made infection game.

• Dive Bomber - Perform a beat down on an enemy player while using the jetpack during a matching game.

• Bounty Hunter - Capture 10 skulls at once in a match made HeadHunter game.

I just think that is pretty messed up that we pay good money for these map packs and games so we can get the full experience from them but yet we can’t do that simply because 343 Industries decides to take down a bunch of fun playlists leaving us with only one classic playlists. And unless they add the playlists back we will never ever be able to complete Halo Reach. Which will honestly eat us alive.

Bottom line is, this is completely unfair to me and my friends plus I’m sure a good amount of other people in the halo community who are having the same issue WANT CHANGE!..

So 343 if you read this please take it in consideration and don’t make it so that it’s impossible for us to get what we work so hard for. That goes for Halo reach, Halo 4, and the halo games to come in the future.

Achievements simply should not be tied to specific online stuff like this.

Agreed with both of you.

It isn’t so much that I can’t get the achievements than I can’t play the maps I -Yoinking!- paid for. Noble, Defiant, unplayable. And they are still pretty expensive, anyone willing to pay for them will get a surprise for sure. And even then with the anniversary playlist you mostly only play Beaver Creek. And what’s up will all the user-created maps in the invasion playlist and others? Why can’t I mostly play the real maps?

If the problem is the population, what’s the deal of giving everyone the maps for free, no one’s gonna buy them anyway in such a situation. I’d rather have people get the maps for free even if I paid for them so I can play the maps rather than just not play the maps. Then, do like Halo 3 and make it essential to have the DLC for practically every playlist. Problem solved. It’s that easy. Or at least put back the DLC playlists.

All of these achievements are still possible to obtain, you just have to be in a lobby where everyone has the appropriate DLC. If just a single person doesn’t have it, then none of the maps will show as voting options.

Emergency Room: Anniversary maps found in Living Dead are Solitary, Breakneck and Penance.

Bounty Hunter: The Headhunter gametype can still be found inRumble Pit and the Anniversary maps found in this playlist are Solitary, Penance, Battle Canyon and High Noon.

Dive Bomber: This achievement can be done in any playlist that has the Jetpack in the loadouts. And since all playlists have Anniversary maps integrated into them, all you need is a full lobby of people that own the Anniversary map pack to have a chance of one of the DLC maps showing.

SO these achievements aren’t impossible to get, you just have to search with a full lobby of anniversary map pack owners for a chance to get the correct maps to show as voting options. Try organising a full lobby by creating a thread or joining a discussion in an existing one in the recruitment section found here.

You gotta be kidding me. By myself, after hours and hours of xbox live play I couldn’t find a single DLC match, or even have the option to vote for such map. As for making lobbies, isn’t that illegal? I did one with some people to help them the Breakpoint achievement which I already had, and I got a credit ban for it even if I just helped them. Anyway, having to put together a lobby so you can get achievements is pretty -Yoink-. At least it’s a way to play the DLC map themselves, but even so you can’t just play on your own when you want to.

Absolutely agree. I bought all the DLC and I can’t play it now because it’s impossible to get matched up with a lobby full of other people who have the DLC, too.

It’s frustrating enough not being able to get my last achievement, but not being able to play content that I paid for is absolutely ridiculous.

343, PLEASE HALP.

They need to streamline the playlists. I appreciate what they tried to do with the Evolved playlists, but I think it’s time to finally bring the Title Update to every playlist. This probably won’t happen, but it should. Super Slayer and Team Slayer are essentially the same playlist, except that Super Slayer regularly has less than one hundred players, while Team Slayer usually has two or three thousand.

I just think the simple solution is to Title Update every playlist and streamline the selection a little bit. Add Grifball and Living Dead to the Action Sack playlist. Find a way to effectively merge The Arena and the MLG playlist. Toss SWAT and Snipers into a playlist together somehow. But most importantly; bring every playlist into the Title Update. Get rid of that Evolved partition. Maybe add a single downloadable content playlist. These are all simply options that would improve playlist health in Halo: Reach.

I also personally think that the Halo: Reach map packs should be heavily discounted to help supplement some of the playlist population. Halo 3 still has a healthy Team Mythic population, after all.

> T Super Slayer and Team Slayer are essentially the same playlist, except that Super Slayer regularly has less than one hundred players, while Team Slayer usually has two or three thousand.

…So you want to add the unpopular game type to the most popular playlist? You, yourself, just said that the slayer playlist with the TU applied has very little draw. The Vanilla Reach playlist is far more popular. Why do you want to change that? To drive away the people that ARE playing the game?

Will 343 ever change the playlists though? There are maps I have hardly touched, it’s so annoying!

I’m actually operating under the assumption that Team Slayer is the most popular playlist because it’s the first playlist. I believe that if the current Team Slayer playlist was eliminated and the current Super Slayer playlist was renamed Team Slayer and given the old Team Slayer playlist’s top slot, it would be just as popular. Fact is: it’s basically the same playlist but further down the list.

2 of these achievements can still be today in 2015. Go in Rumble with at least 1 person with xbox live. Plug in 3 controllers as guests. (Note: player must have map pack!!) Start searching then as soon as the screen says Match Found, LOG OUT one of your guests. Doing this will kick everyone out except you and your other 2 guests. Now since you have the map pack, Rumble pit will give you choices to pick with anniversary maps and games like HEADHUNTER. Pick your game/ start it, then do the achievement! Since it is just u and your guests, the person wih xbox live can just kill his/her guests untill u collect 10 skulls! Hope this helped!!!

Lifesaver

Most people who play Reach are either die hard Reach fans, or people who don’t have a XB1 and just got Halo Reach for the first time. It would seem very hard to get everyone in a lobby now a days with all the DLC required.

AGREED I WANT SQUAD DLC BACK!!!

I agree with everyone, bring back the dlc playlists, and the original vanilla reach, lose the TU playlists except one specifically for anniversary map play, because Reach was so much better then, it would be greatly appreciated, considering the population is playing the vanilla Reach playlists anyways because the are way better than the TU ZB playlists, just saying. And Squad DLC was the POOP man!!!

I agree with everyone, bring back the dlc playlists

Don’t expect any changes to Reach, it hasn’t been supported in years, so I doubt anything would change unfortunately. I think Halo 3 had a fine system of having DLC specific playlists then forcing people to get them for most playlists, then reducing the DLC map packs prices or making them free.

At this point if I could change anything, get rid of Anniversary Firefight and TU Slayer, get rid of the trash Big Team and Invasion maps and game variants, bring back Action Sack, mix in TU game variants in team slayer as well as more classic play styles. Force all playlists to require the DLC, but make them free (it’s been over five and a half -Yoinking!- years!), and the same should be said about Halo Wars.

Edit.

Well… It’s kind of your fault. Even at the time you posted this, you had a whole 4 years to buy Reach and the appropriate map packs. If you love your achievements then maybe you should have checked Reach’s before purchasing it a full 4 years after release.
