I’ve played the hell outta Halo 4, and loved it.
Just recently however I went back to Reach and I’m almost lovin’ it even more.
The heaviness and darkness of the colors are a little easier on the eyes and after revisiting the game I realized the textures are (in my opinion) way better than in Halo 4 (seeing ennemies at a distance, water and grass and character limb textures, explosions are beautiful and actually intimidating AND dangerous). Also, little details like grunt’s methane packs exploding and head-shots knocking off their helmets were something I didn’t realized I missed. For some reason H4 looks more like a cartoon or a comic strip now that I compare the two. It’s like, Halo, for kids.
And for pete sake… I love spartan ops but 343 could learn alot by looking back on Reach. They need better writers, serious voice actors (The human race is attacking an alien venerated planet yet they crack jokes as if they’re shootin’ goafers)and more involving cutscenes. Halo Reach totally immersed the player’s spartan in the story and in the cutscenes, which is what made it so damn satisfying. I forget what mission it is but I think they do it once in Spartan Ops (where they involved the spartans in a cutscene). It’s the level where they’re all bound up on the wall and one player jumps down to assassinate one of the two elites! That was awesome! It just get’s you into the story and makes you care a little. Even if it’s just a cutscene where team crimson is riding in on a hot pelican to a drop off zone. Let us watch the descent from the pelican and actually get dropped off! Enough with showing a pelican, then blacking out the screen, then showing the spartans!
ANYWAYS. Long story short, I need some REACH players so I can complete the campaign and get some challenges down and play some firefight! I’ve been playing the series for about ten years so I’m sure we can have some fun!
Hit me up!
