Having an issue trying to play with my friends or join multiplayer matches, when people try to join my party they get a version mismatch error, it goes both ways. I have a very hard time finding other players to play with in matchmaking and it seems like people are barely playing the game, but I have a feeling they have the same game version as me so I can only play with them.
I have the game through the Windows Store. while all my friends have it through Steam, we have played together many times but today it doesn’t seem to work. The only thing I can figure is, there was a small update issued to the Steam version of the game and not the Windows Store version, causing an accidental version mismatch and disconnecting the two platforms, or people who did not get the update. I have verified my game files and checked for updates on the Windows Store, and there are no updates available. Any suggestions?
Nope, have this same issue aswell. They pushed a small patch to the steam version of MCC, but not Microsoft Store. It’s sad to think they can’t release the updates together. I have been unable to join any custom games because of this version mismatch issue.

Wow, I’m kinda speechless. You update one platform, you have to update the other, or hold the update until you can release them at the same time. I know there may be some issues with how Steam issues updates and what not, but still…come on people…this isn’t rocket science.

> I retract my reply. There is indeed an update for the Microsoft Store version, but it does not show up in the update section. I just made a post explaining how to get the game updated here: https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/forums/85d779d52cfd46918b4f8b638f2e3c7b/topics/{how-to}-fix-version-mismatch/34d6d311-ae13-4203-a196-1667a8f4b708/posts
I tried that yesterday but it didn’t work, didn’t show an update. Luckily, this morning MCC was listed as needing an update in my Downloads section, so we should be good now. Thank you for the assistance.
