So I’m owning this game since the launch and I cant enjoy it because I dont have any sounds INGAME.
I have sound in the main menu, hearing music and everything, I even have sound when I press escape ingame and choose between the Pause options but ingame itself its no sound.
I have seen people with this problem too.
I already have tried every possible solution.
I been gaming on PC since years and I never had such an weird Issue.
I just want to report that, I want to play too. Please hurry up with a fix.

Razer DeathAdder Elite
Razer Goliathus Speed Terra Large
Logitech Z906 True 5.1 DTS Surround connected via Optical.
I also tried using my monitors speakers, or using the front of my case for headphones, it does not work!
I’m having the same exact issue, but not every game.
Having the same issue but on Xbox One X and only affecting Halo 2 but not the other games…
I just hope the update is out soon …
Its been 6 days since release and I cant still play it. Such an horrible experience.
Same issue here.
Razer Nari headset. Using Gamepass PC.
Sound ok till main menu but once in the main menu, sound just cuts out and I tried playing sound from other apps to see if its just the game, no sound from itunes, youtube but moment I quit the game, I actually hear the Halo theme before the game fully quits and then itunes and youtube sound comes back. Best guess is the game hijacks the sound system once its in the menu and pipes it into the abyss. The last time I’ve had sound issues like this is with another game using EAC. Like seriously, please stop using EAC, causes nothing but problems and not to mention the way it installs on your system without permission is exactly how malware and viruses work.
I’ve tried the select the Headphones output only suggestion, same problem. I thought it was DS4Windows causing issues with EAC, the game still goes silent without DS4Windows.
Guess uninstalling the game till this is resolved.
Similar issue but only on wireless headphones. Music still plays on title screen than cuts out before loading the menu and doesn’t comeback unless i disconnect the headphones.
Same here, except I have no sound at all. It worked for the first day and a half and then it was gone. No audio in any part of the game, intro, menu, gamplay… nothing. It’s just crazy. It sucks looking at the game on my PC and not being able to play it. I sent a ticket already but I do think it’s gonna take some time for them to fix it.

You are not alone brother.
Its a shame how they handle this.
Day one Halo players like me still standing in the rain while almost everyone else is enjoying this game.

Confirmed. After reading this post, I switched to my ASUS ROG monitor speakers and sound is playing properly. This really baffles me on the QA process for this release, I’m sure there are millions of PC gamers with wireless headsets, how the hell did they miss this. Not going to be playing Halo over the relatively crappy monitor speakers vs my 200 bucks THX Razer headset. Please fix.
Its been 10 days since launch. xD
smfh.

There is no fix for this atm.
We have to wait for a patch.
Guess Santa isn’t coming for us this year
I gotten a brand new headset for my PC, wireless one and im getting the same issue but mine i have sound in the menu and it does not cut out or anything, but when i join fightfight or multiplayer then all the audio is gone. I still have audio when i am going though the menus but nothing in game. But for some reason i have audio just fine in single player. its just so weird, i might have to go back to using my desktop speakers :c
This worked for me: Click Start> In the search box search for “Control” to open old school Control Panel> Search the Control Panel for “Sound”> Under “Sound” click “Manage Audio Devices”> Select your headphones and set them as your default (Set Default)> Click “Recording” at the top and set something else as a Mic. Mine cut out and back in whenever I’d go to the Recording tab but at least worked when I set my laptop’s mic as the default.
IDK what this will do for in game chat but me and my friends just use Discord or something else so ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Hope this helps!

This is the fix. I just had to right click my headphones and click disable as a microphone.

Sadly this is also not working for me.
Still no sound in game, only in the menu ( Menu is based on UE ) so no wonder.
Well, they are doing a new sound encoding for the game, only after this patch it will be fixed.
