Hey guys,
So I have been trying to diagnose major fps drop spikes I have been having. Playing around 200-400fps then dropping to 20-30 for no reason.
I understand this game does not play well with high fps, but I have recreated these fps drops in locked 60 and vsync enabled as well.
What I have found after hours of diagnosing is that due to my cpu being what it is, this game is struggling to keep all 18 cores synced at one value. Other games deal with this too but fps does not drop as dramatically.
If I force my cpu to run at 4ghz or any value above 3ghz synced all cores, the game runs amazingly smooth, no fps drops at all.
For many other reasons I would prefer not to force my cpu to run at one frequency on all cores so I was curious, without swapping over these settings in the bios all the time, is there an easier way to force cores to sync in game from in the OS? Or are there any other possible fixes I may have not heard of?
My true hope is that 343 realizes this problem and optimizes for high end machines. But until then hopefully I can find a fix.
Thanks!
