I think it’s too early in Halo 5s lifespan to say.
I like both but ill play reach. I mean,I can actually customise my spartan
I think Id pick Halo 5 but it would be a hard choice since I like bolth
i prefer halo 5 to be honest it is better cause of the when i aim its better
Just play both, halo reach and halo 5 are very different games. Not going to lie but, at least reach lets me see a full post carnage report complete with medals gained during the match =D

The concept of thrusters and jet packs, assassinations, sprinting and just about all the evolutional stuff that is now considered standard. Without Reach, we’d still be gunning from the hips, at slow strides and feel like floating cams, like old Halos. And let’s not forget Big Team Battle for the first time.

> Halo Reach also had better multiplayer customization options. It was hard to find an identical Spartan to yours…what with the mix of tactical accessories, vests and gadgets you could have added on to helmets, chests, arms etc. Also, better armor color selections.

> So, whatever Reach did wrong(for some), it most certainly did a lot right. Reach received bad rap because it evolved the gameplay away from late 90’s and early 2000 era arena gameplay. Thereby separating it from your usual Unreal/ Quake style bounce and jump hip shooters. This pissed off the arena and Halo purists, but delighted those who fancy a touch more realism in their gameplay.

> [Edit]You have to understand that Halo CE was founded on arena style gameplay. Back when it came out, things like Unreal Tournament were the -Yoink-. Halo 2 continued on that growth, but adding dual wielding gimmick to the mix, but offsetting some question of balance. Halo 3 got rid of the dual wield fail and introduced armor powers. So you start to see a trend where the developers were now recognizing that the series needed to be a little more grounded and evolved with the times. Arena games like Unreal were dead/ dying, in favor of games like COD. Halo Reach went all out and made it more COD-like, while keeping just enough of the old-school arena style gameplay in it. Even adding jetpacks, which, like it or not, was an arena shooter’s dream. I mean, any time you can get way up in the air and try to head snipe someone…well, that’s just straight-up old school FPS for ya.
There is so much wrong in this post…
Have to go with halo 5 im sorry jetpacks are bs…
Halo Reach than Halo 5 Guardians.
Halo 5: reach was good but is just out dated

Some of us still play those games so its not so much of a case of “rose tinted glasses” as mere facts that we prefer those games. For some thats hard to swallow I guess. I played Reach until the release of H5. When H5 was released my plan was to migrate to H5 for a long time but that was not the case. I´m really disappointed and am going back to Reach the day it is backwards compatible.
halo reach hands down

H5 being more competetive? That´s laughable! Us Euro´s have to put up with 200-300ms latency to US servers all the time which hardly makes this a seriously competetive game in its true meaning. The day I can chose to play on a local server is the day the game can start calling itself a competetive one.
As for armour lock I agree it is disgusting. Still, I prefer Reach which speaks volumes about how I detest the server setup 343 went with here. Servers are great, if they are regionally available. There are rgional servers, but still we are matched 90% on distant servers which renders the game useless.
Too many differences to compare, but overall I feel like Halo 5 is better
For me, Halo Reach and Halo 5 each did better in different areas. For Halo 5, the competitive scene is inarguably better, and returned Halo to what it once was. However, Reach is perhaps the most fun social game I have ever played. It was easy to enjoy anything in the game, be it the campaign, multiplayer, firefight or custom games; Halo 5 brought back competitive Halo but lacked in content when compared.
I’d say I prefer Reach overall, namely because of how much stuff you can do in the game, but Halo 5 is still a great game IMO. While some of the anger towards the game and 343i is justified (i.e. no splitscreen, lack of features compared to other games, falsely advertised campaign), a large part of it is just the same old crap people have been spewing since Halo 2. I imagine by the time Halo 6 comes around people will largely remember 5 fondly, but who knows.
I very much enjoy Halo Reach, but I agree as well that it isn’t going to replace Halo 5 if it does become backwards compatible.
I’ll still play both, just which ever one I feel playing for that day
Halo 5 if they get into gear.
I stopped playing Halo because of Reach, but with that said, how the ongoing games have become, it makes me disappointed that I didn’t enjoy Reach more when it was out!
If 343i can come through with their promises & content. I think I’ii be sticking around. But if they drop the ball…well 'm outta here. The coming update will tell all.
I’m currently a big fan of Reach, but Halo 5 is still a great game, regardless of the negative feedback that it’s received. Both received bad feedback at launch.
