Halo Reach or Halo 5

I like reach’s content and customization options, as well as its unique set up with you being noble 6, and I would like a side story like it again that would fit well into the Halo universe, but I love Halo 5’s mechanics in game as well. If those two combined for an epic side story that doesn’t conflict with any of the lore or previous games, it would be amazing.

Reach in my opinion, it is still one of my favorites

Halo 5 because it’s slicker and far more competitive. Reach had a good campaign, but the multiplayer felt very clunky. The armor sets look for cooler in Halo 5 in my opinion. Past Halos had much less in the way of unique weaponry since 343 took over as well. People seem to overlook that.

Preach it!!

If you are talking about the number of people that played the game I would argue Halo 3 was most populated out of any Halo game. I played Halo 3 months after launch and saw over 1 million people online. I played Halo Reach on launch day and there was over 700,000 online. I played Halo 4 on luanch day and saw under 400,000 online. I played Halo 5 on luanch day and couldn’t say how many were online because there is no online population counter anymore. See a trend here? Also, you can’t be sure about any numbers involving Halo 5 because they are all kept at close guard. Saying it was the best selling Halo on launch because it made the most money was a dirty trick. The sales numbers were a dollar amount based off of anything that had the Halo 5 logo on it including consoles and special editions of the game. Technically the Halo 5 name sold the most in the franchise at luanch, not the game. Halo 3 is the best selling Halo ever by number of copies sold followed by Halo 2.

I played 2000+ games of Reach. Super Slayer/TU Reach was better than ANYTHING 343i has produced with Halo 4 and 5.

Everyone blames Reach but fails to see that Reach was a spin off, a standalone concept, a bundle of ideas Bungie wanted to put in a Halo game but never attempted to with the original trilogy. Reach was the blueprint for DESTINY. NOT HALO.

Numbered Halos should have built from Halo 2/3.

> I see a good amount of people posting about Halo Reach Being so good and so much better than Halo 5. That its gonna take over when it’s backwards compatible… Let me ask you this, Have you forgotten what Reach did to Halo??
> Thats the game that started the downward spiral for the community. It caused confusion of what Halo was and is. I enjoy Reach to an extent but it had loads of issues. It was a Halo that the majority of the community hated. Sorry for the reality check.
> I know Halo 5 isn’t perfect but it has the potential to be one of the best Halo’s there is.

So surfing Halo forums wasn’t this bad around Halo 3 and Halo 3 ODST??

I completely disagree. I believe H5 holds potential. I LOVED the previous Halos and their competitions, but Halo would inevitable die out if it didn’t throw something new into the mix. This still feels like Halo at its core, and I think it puts just the right amount of “new” into the game.

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACH

yeah

I have to go with Reach
Good Campaign
Multiplayer (whether it was good or not is a matter of opinion)
Firefight
Forge
Theater

It’s got way more content.

Reach had some good points but everyone I know quit playing halo because of the armor abilities. It started halo down the wrong path that it has never fully recovered from.

I cant even play reach anymore because I don’t have the map packs, and there is no way I will pay $15 for each pack. If I am every going to play that again they will need to make those free or like $1 a piece. But I am loving 5 anyway.

> I would take Halo 5 over Reach any day. I don’t even own Reach at all. The best part of Reach was firefight. The community playlist was fun too but with everything being in forge and forge world, it just started to look way to similar in every mode. I am a bit concerned that will happen with H5 BTB since it is all in forge. Oh well at least we have Warzone.

Have you seen the new maps for arena? They look uniquely designed including cosmetics.

I for one love Halo Reach. Best campaign, and soundtrack in the series in my opinion. I own it digitally so I’ll play through some of the campaign again, but not multiplayer.

Halo Reach isn’t as bad as people said it was. Over dramatic.

> I’m sure I’ll have a few games of Reach when it arrives but I won’t be “converting”, and neither will most of the community in my opinion. Reach was great for its time (bar a few features of course), but nostalgia can be severely rose-tinted when thinking about newer games. I’d bet if most people went back to play Reach multiplayer now they’d realise it just doesn’t compare any more, for a lot of different reasons.

> I’d imagine anyone saying Reach will overtake Halo 5 are kidding themselves; sure it’ll have a very hardcore following but its matchmaking and lack of dedicated servers (especially with so few people playing) will be painful.

I do think Halo 5 is better than Halo 4 but don’t underestimate nostalgia. 5 months after Halo 4 launched I noticed, on more than one occasion, that there were more people playing Halo 3 and/or Halo Reach. This was not always the case but these were 6 and 3 year old games beating the population of a 5 month old game. After Halo 4 was 6 months old the Halo Reach population beat Halo 4’s on a regular basis. Not saying this will happen with Halo 5, I’m just pointing out that it can happen. Heck, I played the MCC with a buddy of mine at least 4 days a week for months, not caring that it took 10 minutes or resetting the game to find a match, just to play Halo 2 and 3 again. We had more fun playing the broken MCC than we ever did playing Halo 4 or even Halo 5. So, nostalgia can be very powerful.

No I wont let Halo 5, die this game just need time the more I play it the more I love it , even if Reach was one of my favorite Halo ( that tragic solo tho, pretty sure it inspired the creator of Games of Throne ) it have many bad aspects and how i’m supposed to go back playing slow spartans and armorlocks naaaaah .

Reach have more customization ? -Yoink- no i’m sorry guys but Reach have 79 armors pieces ( Everything unless FF voices ), Halo 5 Have 471 … So ok it’s not like Reach because it’s full armor set not shoulders and chest splitted (I’m not talking about other stuff like kneepads and tacticool gadget because it was meh) but c’mon it can’t be a valid argument to me (even if it’s dumb to not have this option I agree) .

To me :

Reach

  • Invasion - Cool Vehicles - Social playlists - Great Solo with thedarkest aspect of the Halo serie - Firefight - Some very good weapons ideas (IEM grenade launcher,Needler Rifle …) - Great playlistsHalo 5

  • Tons of armors, visors, helms, assassinations, Emblems, Weapon skins - Warzone - REQ system make you try all customisation instead of pure farming and can’t be fun at opening for some - The most balanced multiplayer - Faster and harder then previous games - Great Ranking system overall - Cool Weapons and vehicles variants - Updated with free content every month until June - Dedicated servers - (EDIT) 1rst Halo In 60FPS Now your call guys but I refuse to see this game die .

I for one am glad the two games are completely different. It’s nice to have the availability to switch between both game styles and the need for a nostalgic throw back. I appreciate the backwards compatibility on the way and look forward to the plethora of games at my disposal. Halo in general is what I consider a great time on the console. If they were all the exact same game I wouldn’t feel the same.

Why not Both? Backwards compatibility.

People seem to forget that Halo: Reach was a complete game when it shipped and had an incredible amount of content when it finished up. People who say Halo 5 is competitive need to get real. Halo hasn’t been truly competitive since Halo 3. Sure Reach’s ranking system was casual but when Halo 5’s ranking system doesn’t even work, you can’t really say it’s more competitive than Reach especially when i’m Platinum in most playlists but get teamed with/against silver and gold players.

IDK i Love Halo 5 Cuz of the way it has Evolved and mixed what Made Reach Great, and what was the Core of Halo. In my mind Both Games are outstanding and cant be Comparired
