I’m trying to get Carter’s helmet for my avatar on the Xbox One (which is achieved by completing a mission in Halo Reach on legendary), but I’m having a lot of trouble with it. I don’t really know what the easiest/shortest mission would be best for unlocking the avatar reward, so that’s why I’m asking y’all. Do anyone know the easiest mission to beat on legendary (without dying)? If so, I’d like to hear your methods of getting past the level.

Id say nightfall. You can skip alot of the fights if you are good at glitching through the door near the last section.
You can also ignore defending the civillians and move on.
Skip the guta fight aswell.

Nightfall would be my suggestion as well. Not only for the reasons HurriedPie69297 here puts, but because for the sections you do have to fight in, using the sniper rifle means you will be able to pick off most enemies from a distance without having to too much trouble.
I would recommend to play Winter Contingency as it’s probably the easiest mission to do deathless on Legendary. The first area with enemies can to a large extent be skipped if you run past it on the right hand side and the other areas are relatively easy.
First mission dude. It has too many shortcuts and always uses a plasma pistol for the elites.
