Before i start im going to use this as my thread saying im back from my 3 week ban (for posting a “343, can i haz recon?” thread). Now i am back and ready to be on the forums again.
During my 3 week’s away i bought a new “generic” hard drive for my 360. I noticed when i got it that if i were to get on a game that i did not have installed to the HDD it would have long loading times and a few audio cuts the first time getting on it. After 2 days of redownloading all my stuff on to the new HDD and installing BF3 and Halo 4 i decided to go play halo reach (since i was unable to get any gaming done in those 2 days), i forgot about the loading issues at this time so i go to play matchmaking, go into team objective. LULZ are about to be had, everything is fine and dandy, search for people, find people, vote for map/gametype. THEN the loading which is seemingly forever only speed up by people dashboarding. The rage of people complaining about these long load times which i was complaining about also because i had forgotten about the loading issues. Once i realized though it was amazing and it saw to my daily lulz.
I dont know if this is something that is specific to just a few generic HDD’s but i found it to be a pretty good trolling weapon.
I am now in the process of installing halo reach to my HDD since i actually want to play now and not sit in the lobby loading for 30 mins.
Your slow Hard Drive as a whole is due to the ten shyt tons of updates, programs, apps, and features over the 6-7 years that your X Box and X Box Live is trying to set up everytime you boot up the X Box, further more, everytime you load up a game it’ll probably take as long when trying to compensate for it.
No its obviously the hard drive since these “problems” only occur with this hard drive in and not my original official MS 60GB one.
I have installed it to my HDD and i have played a few matches, i dont know if it is because my connection was poor at the time but there seemed to be a lag to a few of the matches i played, i wasent really seeing anything lagging about but in a 1v1 encounter it just seemed i was a second behind compared to the other person. The audio cuts out a bit, sometimes i reload and dont hear the reload sound till a half a second later or i will get a medal like revenge and not hear it till 2 or 3 seconds later than normal. I wonder if there is anyway to fix these things

This sounds just like every single game for me. It’s just lag, because I mostly play against people on the other side of the world for some reason. But I only play Team Objective as well and the loading times have always been pretty quick for me.

This just started occuring since i put it my new HDD. though the “lag” part (being the first time i can remember seeing this type of lag) may be because i had just finished downloading around 10 GB of DLC and patches so that might have been the reason though i dont know why the audio would “lag”

I almost always have a lag which makes everything delay, like when I shoot somebody, but he dies 2 seconds later. And often I also get audio lag with that. I don’t even know what causes it for me, my games just always get a bad host. So I have no clue why it would happen for you suddenly.
