Halo reach isn't playable anymore.

I started playing reach again a while ago trying to reach inheritor seeing I was only I few levels away. I noticed that the game is overrun with little kids who just wait for all the OP weapons to spawn or wait for the OP vehicles to spawn in over and over again. It seems like there aren’t anymore good players out there. Am I the only one feeling like this?

The game is playable, many still play, it’s just that the game has changed for the worse.

Yeah, I feel like that.

For some reason, multiteam has devolved into a bunch of useless players who want nothing but assassinations (ultimately leading to a huge stockpile of kills for me). Hey if they want to jump around trying to kill my behind and failing hard as I murder the entire team then I say go for it.

Correct, I’ve been playing since the beta and currently the game sucks due to crappy teammates who don’t know how to play objectively. A lot of people get 1-4 kills a game and try to betray their teammates just because they are -Yoinks!-.

Also, people like taking advantage of the limited betrayal system set in place. For instance, I normally get 30-40 kills a game and if someone on my team has -1 kills or 2 kills and I betray them they can kick me if I have 40+ kills… Makes no sense at all. It allows -Yoink- players to enjoy being carried by better players who want to win the game.

And yes, a lot of kids who think they are ODST pros or something just feed the enemy kills 24/7 and never care about protecting their teammates. The quality of the game has gone down hill

Teammates are why Reach isn’t good anymore. I like to play custom games with a lobby of my friends compared to matchmaking with a bunch of senseless people that can’t play the game. Reach will suffer the same feit as 3.

I can honestly agree with this for Reach Big Team Battle. Reach Big Team Battle isn’t fun anymore because of exactly this. If I want to play a Slayer variant, I make sure to play a 4 vs. 4 or multi-team to minimize this from happening.

Grifball is also horrible anymore on Reach. As much as I like the Reach variant over the Halo 4 variant (As the Gravity Hammer in Halo 4 sometimes makes a Michael Jackson-esqe sound where as the Reach one sounds like rolling thunder if you have good bass), Teams of 4 that are usually together seem to unjustifiably cheat by spawntrapping to boost their K/D, Commedations, and cR (Boosting this way is cheating, not ‘statpadding’), basically doing it to grief the game for their own benefit than to do it for a couple seconds to score the ball.

Yup, there always seems to be one team in almost every game of Multi-Team that does this. Giving them cookies seems to help, and as in cookies, I mean grenades. it was because of this, I earned my first ‘Hail to the King’ medal legit, which I have that video in my Reach fileshare.

Reach custom games are always fun as well, nothing wrong with having a custom game gamenight with friends. Sometimes the custom games are simply more fun that the matchmaking games.

I’m honestly surprised that nobody brought up how Firefight Matchmaking is ruined by ‘a lot of kids who think they are ODST pros’ by using nothing but the Fuel Rod Cannon loadout and just constantly blinding everybody’s screen with green because they shoot the enemy that is in front of your face (which is migrane inducing) only to quit or lag out near the end when the bonus round starts. It’s very rare to come across a non-friend firefight matchmaking player who use the Sniper Rifle-DMR, Shotgun-Grenade Launcher, or the Energy Sword-Plasma Launcher loadouts.

I honestly think 343i should have modified that loadout and removed the Fuel Rod instead of taking away Firefight Doubles when they tinkered and removed things from Reach. That would have promoted more teamwork instead of promoting trolling and potential griefing.

I feel like that on every game I play. Getting tired of playing with 10-year-olds with potty mouths that are up way past their bed-time. I always ask them if their mommies know that they are up?

Some of my best games were when I chose the Hologram/Sword/Plasma Launcher loadout. Granted I dumped the starting weapons in favour of a pistol and needler the moment I could, or pistol and needle rifle, but it did nothing to stop me from getting to #1 in those games while everyone fired rockets and died non-stop.

I still remember when I joined a BTB and the whole team would work perfectly, even when no one used mics, they would have their back, they would go into their own vehicles and they wouldn’t get mad for not getting the Gauss hog or the Banshee or the Scorpion, they’d accept it and go somewhere else. I even received a BTB All-Star medal thingy, somehow.
This game, regardless of what happens now, will always be my favorite game. Playing split-screen with my bro, custom games with people I met online on MLG games, the way I could find a kid who was just so genuine, cute, friendly and fun, talking with his/her braces and spitting all over his/her mic (not being offensive to people like that, the exact opposite).
Damn, I grew up with the Halo franchise but this game was the one that really got to me, it’s beyond amazing.
And even though I might not be able to repeat those moments, I’ll always remember how the Halo community used to be the best and how much of a nostalgia and happiness it gives me whenever I think about this game.
Ahah, I just remembered how much of a MLG fanboy I was and now everyone mocks it, even I do. I once knew a kid with the name “zXXXMLGF4T4L1TYXXXz”. Not even kidding and I thought it was a cool name back then. Damn.

Anyways, for the Halo old players, cheers for the fun and happy times throughout the years. <3

P.S.: I didn’t get the blue flames because I was 2 days late, the rage was real back then.

Once when Reach is able to be played via backwards compatibility, it just, juuuuustttt might be worth playing again. Matters if everyone runs over to it anyway.

100% agree with you there

its playable if you can just ignore the community made maps in multiplayer and the terrible teammates

So…if Reach becomes backwards compatible, does this mean 343, oops I mean Microsoft, has to put in some effort to supporting it again?

It’s even worse when that kind of people are in your team.

Assassination custom games are likely to blame. It’s where 95% of the Halo community’s bottom-feeders flock to.

And to make things worse, it’s been spreading like a disease. Considering how most assassination players act like brain-dead zombies most of the time, there might be some sort of connection.

The chunk who makes up the majority of the assassination community may be full of cringe but there’s some who play it as it is. I know I do. I play assassinations almost all the time in Reach. Heck, as I’m typing I’m in a game.

Carrying the team in every match. I need a good team and frankly, the game is filled with 10 year olds

My apologies then. It’s just that in every Assassination game I’ve ever been in, it’s either:

A. I try to play the game as is, and end up triggering a hive-mind mentality, and having everyone rush me for just breaking up the monotony of everyone shambling around (seriously, is there a connection to zombies here?).

OR
B. I get teabagged and trash-talked by the party leader and his flunkies, get my revenge, and immediately get booted and trash-talked.

Usually, both scenarios happen in the same session. I just don’t understand why people like this are part of the majority.

Been awhile since I even bothered to try any of the matchmaking modes on Reach. I normally just stick to Firefight when I want to blow off some steam or kill some time. Firefight matchmaking is still very enjoyable for the most part.
