So I’ve been playing Halo 3 lately. Campaign, and M.P. And it’s fun, I miss some of the vehicles and the campaign battles are bigger then Reach. However I don’t find it better (or worse) then Halo Reach. The Skill and feel is about the same in M.P yet many things in Halo 3 aren’t as fun to me as Halo Reach. Overall each has there ups and downs.
As far as Campaign I agree Halo 3 seemed bigger. However the smaller skirmish battles are tons better in Halo Reach. Fighting Brutes, Jackals and Grunts is pretty fun, yet nothing compared to the god-tier Elite’s, The Grunts who do stuff, Jackals and Skirmishers who keep you on your toes and Hunters that you need a friggen Elite Seal team 6 to kill.
Plus Halo Reach’s vehicle sections are still very fun. They offer a good amount of action. Yet I admit not totally as good Halo 3.
The way I see things (Not including Halo ODST. I’ll keep this to Spartan stuff)
I prefered the brutes from halo 2. In reach when they lose it they shrugg their shoulders and charge. In halo 2 they looked like angry Gorillas. For a warlike race that constantly clashes with themselves it seemed fitting. In reach they look really ugly and their intelligence really doesn’t set the stage for halo 2. We’ve all seen the videos of brutes in firefight knocking aside fusion coils.
For me, it’s the multiplayer in Reach that shines. While Reach’s campaign did something different from the others, the thing it did different didn’t shine enough.
They promised super big battles, but we had bigger ones in Halo 1.
The AI is not good AI, it is super frustrating cheap AI. Sniper scope sense, super big melee range, automatically knowing where you are, seeing you through walls. Wraiths do this a lot, you get their attention on one side. Flank them to the other side and the whole time their looking at you…when you’re in camo.
The AI in Halo 1 was the best. High damage output and WITS, not wall hacks.
