Halo Reach: Hidden Elite?

So I was playing Halo Reach again because I forgot my old Xbox profiles password. And I restumbled onto a thing in the very first Level on Legendary. I recalled there being a hidden; “what I remember a Cloaked Spec Ops Elite” past the beacon at very beginning. If you sprint asap out of the Falcon. You can see his shimmer. Is this the Elite associated with Emile’s death later on during the game? Or is it an irrelevant Easter egg? Or just game dynamics? Or something I might be missing…

Check out my Gameclips on my Xbox live Profile and if you know let me know. I’ll do some YouTube research just in case.

Thanks for any info in advance,
TAPE

They’re called BOBs, you can find at least one in every level

Cool cool, but what is their significance?

Simply put, I know the tac pads you get from these Sangheli played in reverse give a message, but it’s neither stated nor defined in or out of those tacpads as to who or what they are for. Besides two really obvious/not obvious Flood and Forerunner references.

But from the Elites having all different weapons and all different ranks. These Sangheli would be on par with an Arbiter’s skill as they are alone, and clearly on a mission for intel. But both the Arbiters of old and Thel’Vadam when given these missions were given non plasma equipped swords to show their tact, cunning, and resourcefulness in battle. Unless other wise authorized by The Prophets. And weren’t planning on coming home. A lone Elite on a hostile planet no matter how you slice it is close to the suicide missions and Pre-Arbiter status by the Sangheli Lore given to every either Redeemed, or Forsaken Elites. It’s kind of like sepoku (pardon if I spelled it wrong).

Normally most Elites are in a squad of-
An Elite, 2 Jackal or Berserker Snipers, 5 shielded Jackals, and at least 10 to 20 Grunts ranging from Normal, Spec Ops and Heavy. All Elites are considered during Reach’s timeline the backbone and military leaders of the Covenant.

Also, nothing Bungie does, is or was on accident. Especially when it came to lore. They may have messed it up on purpose. But always had a reason. If they did or do at all. Same for 343i. They are very intentional in their hidden eggs. But what I’ve realized over the years of Books, Games, Encyclopedias, and other things, everything has a purpose. This egg isn’t very obvious or deliberate. But it raises more questions that need answering.

Motives from the companies aside. This Easter Egg(s), has an alterior motive…

It’s just an Elite carrying a datapad, the repeater is very unusual for a Spec Ops.

Bobs each carry a jumbled tacpad. Like Sec3Op said there is also one on every level. But, like I was pointing out they spawn with weird weapons for what rank they are. Like the spec ops elite in the winter contingency. Spawns with a repeater. When he should spawn with an energy sword. Because of this I think the tacpad is a type of hidden front.

I’m deep in research. I’m also reviewing old YouTube videos of all the Easter eggs. Another reason I want an unopened Legendary box set for Halo Reach.

The Spec Ops in Winter Contingency is the only BOB to have a datapad on him (I assume you mean datapad).

That’s not a BOB. You can prove it by killing him when the Daily Challenge for killing a BOB is up.
We mentioned him in this topic recently: https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/forums/cdecc00475c645b9a4d0a156fb542d59/topics/anybody-spotted-bob-recently/918f8c4b-5e51-4996-8a37-fc83bb054651/posts

Yeah Datapad, my bad. Lol.
Also, if you kill him with the “Challenge?” it shouldn’t count cause it’s an Easter egg. Not a Bob. Under good assumptions.

The data pads are strewn all across the Reach Campaign. That is what I originally meant. Sorry for not clarifying. But yeah on every level there is a random spawn in Sangheli with an ‘off spawn’ weapon.

I’m still looking into it as it’s a vague lackluster Easter Egg. But it is extremely well placed and blatant.

My mistake he’s not a BOB I don’t actually know why I said that.

It’s all good. Lol.
He is the TacPad Sangheli that starts the Datapad EasterEgg through Reach. The BOBs are the Elites after Winter Contingency Level that pop up. Then there are also the Datapads strung through out the Reach Campaign. At least that’s what I’ve found out so far.

Actually there are BOBs on Winter too.

The Elite you found was carrying an data pad as everyone else said.

There ARE hidden elites in Halo Reach.
Also in the first mission are the golden rangers.
Early buyers of Reach got a code for a new elite to play as, its one level above feild marshal. Elites in the same armour are in the campaign, I remember one in Sword Base in the Second mission, then in the package there is one inside the gates to sword base but not inside.
On the mission Tip of the Spear if you do a bunch of specific things you can unlock another I think in place of the Zealot but this one I have never got one.

There orange elite Rangers scattered across the missions and there called BOBS. You can also find pure white elites in some missions as well. On the package you can find a white field Marshall inside of sword base. They don’t serve no real purpose except for the one at the beginning of winter contigency. If you can kill him he will drop a data pad.

Good to know, I assumed The Cloaked Spec Ops Elite was just to start the Datapad sequence through Reach.

I know now about the BOBs on Winter, and will keep my eyes open. I’ve been playing offline Reach with a bunch of friends. All solo as to search thoroughly through the levels.
Thanks again ChocolateRay618, I tend to jumble my thoughts a lot when I type. It’s no good, cause it confuses everybody. Dyslexia.

Xenomorph63, I know everyone has confirmed multiple times the tacpad Elite on winter contingency. I just think it’s a two part Easter egg, I think it has a hidden meaning besides the Easter egg too.

I also know know about the hidden Elites and a few other Easter eggs through out reach. I’m not to worried about the hidden Elites that much unless they are of any significance to the “data-tacpad” on the Winter’s Elite. Also BOBs in this case are irrelevant too. I suppose.

Thanks again though, on the info for the other Elites. I’ll keep their locations in mind on my next run through.

The code your your talking about is the Legendary Edition Reach Box set. I’m searching for one as we speak. Unopened and intact.

I will research the things on the Tip of the Spear to get that boy’o to appear. And get back to you.

You seem to be dedicating a lot of time and effort to BOB research. Are you aware of this BOB series created by LordFriendship in 2011/2012?

Nope, I’ll check it out. Thanks.
I’m a bit stuck on Halo and a lot of the Easter Eggs. I’m waiting for my internet to get changed to fiber soon. So it’s down as of yet. Or that’s what the apartments I’m in say.

Also, I’m trying to 100% Reach or at the very least awards/achievements/&Campaign. Mp is gonna be uncompleteable without Bungie Blue Flames…

The Legendary Edition Box Set will get me Recon, Elite stuff, and Red Flame Effect. If it still works. Lol. If not Meh. I got the Noble Team figurines again for nothing.

They only appear in Winter Contingency, ONI Sword Base, Nightfall, Tip of the Spear and Pillar of Autumn.
