I have a pretty new… very well configred desktop PC with an AMD Ryzen 3800x processor, 32GB DDR4 3200Mhz RAM, an Asus Strix OC’d RTX 2070 Super Video card, Running on a new Aorus PCIe 4.0 M.2 SSD… very good specs.
Running Reach both campaign and a matchmaking round and MSI afterburner is showing my framerate drop to 30FPS the second the game starts and it just stays there. What am I doing wrong? Setting are fairly basic. I tried turning VSync off and adjusting the FPS limiter and turned that off. I can’t get anything above 30FPS. Stuck at 30FPS. Idk if it matters but I thought I would also mention that I am of course playing Reach through Steam on Windows 10 Pro… with a Samsung 1440P 144Hz gaming monitor. I just can’t get anything above 30FPS in the game… I tried switching the Graphics Quality selection from enhanced to original… both 30FPS… rebooted PC… no resolve. its driving me nuts. Especially when I see others posts from members saying… “Getting over 60FPS… runs like a dream!”
I figured it out. User error. I had windows extended desktop setup to clone my PC screen to my TV. it was causing the issue. disabled the TV output… framerate jumped significantly to over 60FPS
Got the same problem, actually and its driving me nuts. Have played around with all of the settings including GeForce-Experience and the normal NVidida-menu and have not find the cause. Could play through Winter Contingency but it felt off and like i was not really playing it on PC yet in the way i thought i could.
So if someone has fix or some clues, i’d be happy to hear them.
I reinstalled my GPU driver and that seemed to have worked. Seems like Nvidia didn’t do the update perfectly. In the future it is best to download the driver and install it separately
Didn’t do enough troubleshooting. My bad. The Nvidia update for Halo is not working. In other words, driver version 441.41 breaks the game for me. After the uninstall I didn’t restart my pc so it worked on the version 441.20. When i restarted the pc and the driver 441.41 took affect my fps tanked again. What to do? Uninstall and leave the driver version as is and do not update unless you know the fps issue is fixed.
Exact same problem with game around 30fps with Ryzen 3900x and Radeon VII. All settings, all resolutions ', always the same framerates. All other games work just fine. GPU usage is below 10% like the GPU doesn’t know its a game
Same with me. I have a Rtx 2080 super and an I7 9700k and I run Modern warfare smoothly at 160 fps on fairly good settings. Then all of a sudden I got the MCC and it and the fps was terrible. I’m new to pc ( got it 2 weeks ago) what should I do?

That actually works for me, just tested it and it works like a charm. But yes, i guess since this also enables mods it disables achievements so you can’t cheese them.
the face that things sorts out when you run AEC disabled there is a conflict with EAC and some program your running. try closing some programs you have in the background EAC is rather crappy and notorious for not liking other programs for either causing your issue or thinking your cheating because of legit software, EAC will never fix it and put all the blame on the other party
Reach seems to always look like 60fps regardless of how high your framerate is. Because the game is literally showing every frame twice. If you show 140fps, you’re really just getting 70. Uninstalled, I have a console for that.
I have sudden small FPS Drops or Spikes, it works perfectly one moment and then when i enter an area it drops and then comes back on, sometimes doesn’t. It’s annoying me
I have a GTX 1070, 12GB of RAM, I7 3770, i still don’t know why it’s fps dropping so much!
