Hi guys, Im looking into buying a xbox one but I cant decide if I want the S or the more expensive X. I know that the X has better hardware to run games better but ive seen some old stuff online about how Reach (and some other games) run worse on the X. Is the frame rate locked to 30fps on the X? or should I get the S?
Not sure where you read that games run worse on the X, but I personally find that everything runs and looks much better on it. Only issue with an X is that a few Xbox One games that got an X enhancement patch have a couple of achievements that won’t unlock.

This should help you out.

the game technically runs fine. but for some reason i think its a frame pacing thing thats going on with it. im not 100% whats up but it feels a bit wonky. thats just the game, PERIOD, on BC but I feel it plays a bit better on my x.
Honestly between the s and the x, just get the x. even if you do not have a 4k or a 4k hdr tv, you will still benefit. When i upgraded to a x(also a ps4 pro when that launched) i still had my old 1080p tv, and i noticed a difference, a lot. FAR more so on my x over the pro due to higher resolutions. and any enhanced game just looked far better because of the super sampling from the higher resolution and the enhanced graphical bells and whistles that the games had. I replayed halo 5, rise of the tomb raider, gears 4, and was in the middle of playing witcher 3 and skyrim(though at the time it was still not enhanced just yet). I noticed a difference immediately, in everything looked vastly better and sharper.
Once i got my new 4k hdr tv, i rewent and replayed them all YET AGAIN, and then the difference was once again an even MORE larger difference.
So, if money isn’t an issue, just get the X no matter what! You will get games that not only just run a bit better if they are not enhanced(i still play some non enhanced games and they do feel slightly better, or just loading faster) and any enhanced game I have played is far better! and most of the enhanced games that I have were either older games before the x, or i got and played before i even had my 4k tv and the 4k tv jump was noticable since i had the launch xbox as well.
sorry for the long rant, slightly went off topic a bit, i think. But since your debating between the s and an x, i wanted to give my impressions having owned an x since launch day, and only got it just to have better graphics! worth EVERY cent, even my pro for ps4 exclusives!

I am actually waiting for Black Friday sales right now and was wondering what console to get. I already have a PS4 Pro and PC and will only get Xbox One mainly for Halo Reach, MCC and 5.
I only have a low input lag 1080p monitor from playing fighting games so was thinking of getting the S and an Elite Controller instead but your comment is making me doubt that move. Maybe I’ll just get the X instead.
