Halo reach falcon in halo 5

Hello,

I was thinking about how many people I know like the falcon, they like it more than any other aircraft in halo including the hornet and the wasp. so I was thinking "If so many people like it, then why is it not in the game? Well I was just wondering what the community thought, would you like to see the falcon in halo 5 as both a req and a multiplayer vehicle? I know I would.

Here are the reasons why I think it should be added

  • adds a troop transport aircraft
  • could have variants:
  1. transport (no weapons, 6 passengers, may or may not be able to use their weapons, hey can carry heavy weapons such as chain guns)
  2. standard (2 passenger seats each with a mounted machine gun turret)
  3. grenadier (2 passenger seats each with a mounted grenade turret
  4. anti air (2 passenger seats each with a mounted rocket turret
  5. ONI (2 passenger seats each with a HEDP turret, duel HEDP operated by the pilot)
  6. Hannibal(2 passenger seats with mounted rocket turrets, duel Gauss cannons operated by the pilot.
    -fan favorite

well that’s it for now, have a great day.

I’m surprised it wasn’t added in for memories of reach.

they should totally add all of those

I think it should be almost as fast as a wasp and a transport is at a req 3 to the Hannibal at req 6

Well, if we go by lore reasons… the Falcon was part of the UNSC Army, not the UNSC Navy (the Marines only appeared at the very end of Reach). Otherwise I would’ve loved to have seen the return of the Falcon. It was such an fun vehicle to use.

Besides number 1 - getting a six player kill would be far too easy - I like these suggestions.

Yea but warzone isint lore it’s just a game mode.

IMO, it’s because the skybox on maps is pretty low, and there’s a very thin line between the Falcon being underpowered and the Falcon being straight overpowered.

By design, it’s a vehicle that should rely on it’s passengers for offense. Otherwise none of you can aim at the same target, and the Pilot will probably prioritize its own turret over the turret on the sides.

Also, we don’t have huge passenger vehicles (such as the transport Warthog), is because that deals a huge hit to the team when destroyed. A Spartan Laser on a vehicle of 6 wipes out nearly the entire team in BTB, and half the team in Warzone.

Finally, the passengers are just too exposed, just like the Warthog, especially considering how accurate these weapons are (and with a bunch of anti-vehcle weapons)

Game mode or not 343 like to have lore in their multiplayer too, you can blame that being why certain things don’t make it in and why some things do. It’s why lore should never touch multiplayer if a dev is literally going to follow that philosophy on what goes i/out of their games.

The pizza skin is a part of lore now, enjoy. (I however just make up my own lore, not that I’m very big on halo lore to begin with).

fyi: warzone is a “simulator”, that’s the lore behind it along with Spartans fighting other Spartans, it’s a training setup.

@op: I really don’t care to have it in but it makes no sense to. Vehicles are paper mache the way they are in h5, how many do you ever see roll in with warthogs these days? Not much since they’re so easy to destroy and the gunner is exposed to where perfecting him is easy. So In short, why add something 343 will make into paper mache while adding transportation which no one uses anyways to get around? I’ve mentioned this long ago, reach,4 and 5 aren’t vehicular focused games, they’re more of a liability if you use them as they’re to weak and ground forces have it much easier to destroy them. Simply put, because it’s not vehicle friendly, why waste time?

Why wouldn’t the pizza skin be a skin lol. One of he Spartans must be dying for one good thing.

So you’re angry about a pizza skin being canon but just fine with the Clippy, Mega Bloks, and holiday emblems we got before launch? Did you ever think that maybe not everything is canon? Because I highly doubt you’ll see a Spartan Fireteam with Clippy as their emblem. They said that Spartans fighting each other is training. They never said every single aspect of multiplayer was canon.

And no, the Falcon should not be added. Especially if it can carry six people. A single laser, rocket, etc can take it out of the sky and suddenly one dude on the team has level seven REQs and the game started five minutes ago. Yeah, that’s going to go over well for your team.

There’s also the problem that it’s a Warthog… in the air. You cannot use it properly unless you have a teammate on the gun. And even then, the BR would take them out easily and you’d only have one side covered. It has no place in the current state of Halo multiplayer.

If the BR acted more like the classic BR (and no, the H2BR is not the same as the original Halo 2 one, it’s got longer range and other small changes that make it even worse that the H5BR) then maybe it could be added but as it stands it’s giving the enemy team free kills.

“If so many people like it, then why is it not in the game?”

This is a horrible way to look at things. Not everything is made to fit in every iteration of something. The Falcon has it’s place in Reach just like the Phaeton is a Warzone only vehicle, because it’s far too powerful for Arena. If something popular didn’t return, there’s always a reason why: be it time, balance, or it simply fit in anywhere.

I’m not necessarily upset about the skins in all honesty, but regarding canon, I believe this stuff has lore reasons to them, hence me mentioning them being so and why some do have issues with them. I actually could see people using outlandish things cause militaries have painted vehicles and weapons before that aren’t your normal camouflage and what not. As for if 343 use it for the entirety of their multiplayer, not sure, but I do know they try to come up with canonical explanations for anything they can.

Halo 5 and Halo Reach have very different sandboxes, and Halo 5’s does not lean in favor of a Falcon being effective. Compare weapons and vehicles that work well for anti-aircraft use:
H5:
-Railgun/Whiplash/Arclight
-Hydra/Typhon/Echidna
-Rocket Launcher/Ad Victoriam/High Five/SPNKr Rocket Launcher/SPNKr EM/SPNKr EX/SPNKr Prime
-Spartan Laser/Endgame/Selene’s Lance
-Chaingun Turret/ONI Chaingun Turret/Needle Chaingun Turret (mounted and unmounted)
-Rocket Turret/ONI Rocket Turret (mounted and unmounted)
-Gauss Turret/ONI Gauss Turret (mounted and unmounted)
-Grenade Launcher/Pro Pipe
-Berserker’s Claw
-Wasp/ONI Wasp/Hannibal Wasp
-Mantis/Up-armored Mantis variants/ONI Mantis/Hannibal Mantis
-Anti-Aircraft Wraith
-Banshee/Sword Banshee/Temple Banshee/Banshee Ultra
-Phaeton/Phaeton Helios

HR:
-Rocket Launcher
-Spartan Laser
-Machine Gun Turret (mounted and unmounted)
-Rocket Turret (Hog-mounted)
-Gauss Turret (Hog-mounted)
-Grenade Launcher
-Banshee

Look at it. The Falcon has almost twice as much (if not more) stuff to get killed by in Halo 5.

I’d also like to add that the other vehicles (save the Warthog) in Halo 5 can defend themselves. The Falcon relies on the turrets on each side in the back the passengers use. It has no way of protecting itself.

And remember, air vehicles spawn above the Home base and out in the open.

Or even the one in the Halo reach Campaign where you fly the Falcon.

With the game’s sandbox, it just wouldn’t work. As much as I love the Falcon, I just don’t see it being added to Halo 5 without getting absolutely destroyed by all the weaponry.

It would be great to have in custom games, though.
