Halo: Reach epilogue: human-forerunner ship, other implications

I’m going to go out on a limb and say that a major part of the “Reclaimer Trilogy” deals with humans reclaiming the forerunner technology left behind and ultimately taking up the mantle and becoming the new protectors of the galaxy.

Frankie said that now that the wars over, humans now have time to actually examine forerunner technology and integrate it into their own.

The epilogue of Halo; Reach takes place 30 years from now. Notice that the planet went from a flaming dust ball to a fully life supporting vegetated planet in 30 years? That’s not possible by natural means. Also notice that the ship in the background does not exactly look human.

Bungie is already giving us hints. Having reclaimed forerunner technology, we used it to restore reach, and the ship is one made with the advancements we’ve gained from forerunner tech. The ship does resemble the ones we’ve seen in the concept art, particularly primordiums cover.

Also note that in the data pads the AI council specifically mentioned just how long it takes humanity to terraform a planet at the time (before Halo was discovered): 110-300 years. It’s as if that was included just to show how unusual it is that reach became reterraformed in 30 years…

Just an observation…

Interesting thing to think about…the Halo community is so smart…most of the time

You and I are on the same page there. I had a thought earlier thinking that ship in the background of the newly terraformed Reach looked oddly like one of the spaceships from the Halo 4 concept art.

Good thinking.

sounds good. i mean if they can populate giant metal ring worlds with hundreds, if not thousands of flora and fauna species. who is to say that we couldnt reverse engineer that to the point where we could terraform barren rocks in just a few years?

Well, I’m pretty sure the forerunner MEANT for us to inherit everything they left behind. We were simply rushed into it before we were ready when the covenant forced it upon us. So there are probably um…instructions (geas?).

Yeah it makes sense for Bungie to have put atleast one Halo4 hint in Reach. They can’t have just randomly decided to show that sequence on that particular date and have it mean nothing. It might even lead up to something shown/explained in Halo 5 and 6??

I wonder just how much of the storyline for Halo 4-6 bungie knew about 10 years ago.

At any rate, bungie knows what’s up…

Bungie and 343 worked together alot on the Halo 3 sidestories, it wouldn’t surprise me if that little hint was made up at the last second by the both of them when Frank or someone else at 343 wasn’t so busy forming up the current team/studio.
