halo reach ending could of been better

heres why.

Halo CE ending escaping an exploding battle ship.

halo 2 ending boss fight.

halo 3 ending boss fight and escape an exploding ring world.

halo 3 odst escaping a city with ships flying all over the place plus one giant one glassing.

halo reach running through a canyon and all the action is miles away from you in a giant swirly cloud.

hopfully halo 4 will be better

I’d take lone wolf over the 343library battle any day. It gave me this sort of feeling of dread being all alone with wave after wave of covanent attacking, plus that sort of heart sinking feeling when your visor becomes all cracked
Idk maybe its just because I really hated the halo 3 campaign

Halo: Reach ended with a last stand agaisnt wave after wave of Covenant forces. You’re just thinking of the end of the Pillar of Autumn.

The Halo Reach campaign just annoyed me because I read the books and none of it was canon so it didn’t feel like it was real persay…

It’s canon. 343 are adding stuff from Glasslands and the Data Drops to make it fit together better though.

If this one recalls, Halo 2’s ending was not received well by the critics and players. It did end with what would become Halo 3’s catch phrase (finish the fight) which redeems itself in some ways.

As for Reach’s ending, this one can agree it was over a bit soon. When this one finished PoA, it felt too sudden. The Lone Wolf section made up for it and caught this one off guard the first time around.

Also to note, in this one’s opinion it didn’t feel like you were defending Reach from invasion until Exodus- Lone Wolf.

The set up to the final level segment is just as important to it as it itself is.

And Reach was pretty -Yoinking!- deficient. There we were, delivering a package in the most contrived way possible in order to further a plot point which makes absolutely no sense and directly breaks canon whose only payoff is a turret segment guarding a ship which should be perfectly able to defend itself without this jurry-rigged kettle-launcher which dung-for-brains Emile couldn’t keep his attention on even though it was the only thing asked of him for this entire -Yoinking!- game.

At every turn, every single -Yoinking!- turn, Bungie jerked us around with -Yoink- after -Yoink- which somehow has passed for “acceptable narrative” because Halo has still managed to stay self-justifying and popular despite Bungie’s best efforts to sink the franchise with this monument to crap! Nerd rage!!!

…Anyway, I found the end (even just the final fight) lacking. The reason for the last stand was entirely contrived, the level itself was pretty dull and certainly not condusive to any great “Alamo” moments which the situation absolutely demanded, and even the cinematic bits were ill-concieved and poorly executed. Furthermore, it just felt like a kick in the ego to go out shanked when Jorge got to take a super-carrier with him.

i liked the ending in reach, its a sad ending :frowning:
