Personally, i loved the bonus weekends in Halo 3, the best thing being the new and fresh gametypes that they introduced into matchmaking through them. I think these should be brought back into Reach.
These special weekends mixed up the game, i never knew what gametype would be in the playlist next weekend, it was always interesting to play new matchmaking games. The weekends gave me a reason to keep playing each weekend, as it seemed to give the game a new lease of life every time a new gametype was introduced. For example: Team swat. When that was introduced, it was amazing fun. I dont see why these weekends havent been properly introduced yet, but i sure hope they do appear in the future.
You may say the weekends are not here because of the weekly challenges, but its not the XP that is important, its injecting new gametypes into online, and allowing more community made games get into matchmaking.
I like the idea but not double cr. I hit the cr cap in 5 hours of playtime. If double cr weekends were to come in they would have to remove cr cap for the weekends or at least double it.
Allthough i would love new gametypes to play on weekends, even if it was just new gametypes in the Action Sack playlist

I really think they should do a double xp during October 4 until the Halo CE Beta is done this would get more people to play the beta and get a ton of people on the Halo reach servers.
And Also for those who don’t know there will be a Halo Remake Ce Beta.
That would be amazing because the whole jackpot thing fails horribly…everything counts as quitting including lagging out into your own game by yourself, slimming your chances of getting the jackpot which you can only get once a day anyways…I miss good old fashion “play this gametype and get double xp(cR rather).” 343 should at least take it under consideration.

Yea man i totally agree with you the jackpots are horrible, they should think about the double cR
That would be great. They should implement it with the normal credits you get after the match including jackpots and challenges then double them. This = $$$$ which = happy players meaning more players.

Yes they really should and possibly remove the cR limit on the weekends, because once you get to the way higher ranks, it’s a -Yoink-! And it would also motivate people to play more.
On H3, I played almost every weekend and it was so exciting to see which playlist it was and it was just a lot of fun. Now that there’s roughly more than 500 inheritors I think 343i should do it and especially since Anniversary is coming out this November.
As a better thought, why not have a weekend challenge instead. It occurs once a week, is worth a high amount of credits(double what it probably should be) and can only be completed between Saturday morning and Sunday night. It could also be exempt from the daily credit limit. What do you think?
Does anyone remember desperately waiting for the weekend to play some random (and sometimes awesome) playlists? I love Double XP weekends and its exclusion was a huge disappointment in Halo: Reach. Sure, most of the Double XP playlists are default game modes in Halo: Reach but the community is amazing at creating custom games and some of the maps are worthy for online multiplayer.
