Halo Reach DLC Community PlayDate Week 1

Hello Halo players that want to play DLC maps that they paid for.

As it stands, there is no dedicated matchmaking playlist that supports any of the Halo Reach DLC maps. These maps include Tempest, Anchor 9, Condemned, Breakpoint, Ridgeline, and Highlands. While you still can play the maps if everyone in the lobby has the DLC, it’s very rare to see these maps on screen.

I think we can all agree that we might or want to play the DLC maps of the past like the nostalgic Invasion on Breakpoint, or the Jet packing fun in zero G.

As a community, we can all come together at least once or twice a week to play these fun, nostalgia maps created by Bungie. I propose we can start on 3-28 through 3-29 or the week later as we might still need more time to rally players together. If we can pull players together, we can all play on your favorite DLC maps.

How exactly would this work?

Starting Friday, March 28th, myself or someone will host a custom games lobby with a max party size of 12-16. I planned that Friday would be the Big Team Battle Day and that Saturday would be Squad DLC.

Big Team Battle would compose of the following maps: Breakneck, Ridgeline, BreakPoint, HighLands, and Tempest.
The following game modes will be present: CTF, Slayer, Invasion, and King of the Hill.

The amount of times we play every map is up to the players willing to keep on playing. No time limit is required for us to play. Once people start leaving and eventually reaching 6-8 players, we can then secretly play Condemned and Anchor 9 while still planning to play the next day.

“So yeah that’s all cool and stuff but why exactly should I join?” Good question.

By adding me as your friend, I can create custom challenges that will allow you to retrieve some credits while playing with us.

The Following Challenges are such:
Head Hunter - Kill 100 enemies with a headshot. Time Limit - 3 hours Credits received - 850
I know the credits are low and won’t even matter for higher ranks but it’s something.

Squad DLC would compose of the following maps: Anchor 9, and Condemned. The anniversary maps are possibility if people want to play such maps.
The following game modes will be present: CTF, Headhunter, Infection, Oddball, and King of Hill. Any other game modes are freely open.

The requirements to play

You must have a high speed internet, preferably 8mbs or higher. No mics are required to play. All ranks are allowed to enter. You must also be nice and diligent to other players. You must have both Noble and Defiant map pack. Any players who break these rules will be kicked. Any player who constantly changes teams during open lobby without instruction will be booted.

Where to go

Lobbies will be open starting 6:00pm Central Time until we leave. Everyone is welcome to come and play. If you have any friends who also have the DLC maps, then send them an invite. I would also like it if we could keep the teams balanced. A team of warrant officers against inheritors is no fun for anyone. We currently plan to keep the lobby open during game but keep the lobby closed for any particular reason. You can join the custom game lobby by searching the gamertag - ZinkerFish and click join game. Note, we would like you to cooperate such as; Please switch teams if we ask you. This will make it easier for us to balance the teams.

If you would like to play with us as a community send a friend request to ZinkerFish or any other future game monitors. If you would like to be a game monitor, just let me know and we can figure something. The more people that tune in every weekend, the more lobbies that can be host.

We encourage that you stick through the matches even if you hate a particular map or game mode or if your going on a death spree. Don’t worry about deaths or kills but have a good time. Also keep in mind that custom game kills and deaths mean nothing to your competitive service record.

The Future

There are also implementations that can be added down the road. I personally think that their may be a opportunity to host Hardcore Sunday DLC which allows teams to play more competitively on the DLC maps. These game types may include slayer pro, mlg, etc.

The possibility of hosting custom game lobbies in Halo 4 is open at the moment too. All the same features and setting would apply from above. Maps like skyline and monolith.

BONUS Stuff that you may not care about.

I currently have a capture device that would allow me to record and upload the community play dates onto youtube if you would like. The youtube name has yet to be created. Please note that you agree by joining our lobby; I am able to record your footage in game. I can also make a video explaining everything in detail if you halo nerds would prefer : D

In conclusion, the only way for this to work is for you to participate, share this topic around to others. I doubt this will work but can defiantly be surprised if everyone comes together.

Everyone Please leave your Gamertag below and we can all add each other and be friends for some DLC fun. Mine is - ZinkerFish

Phew that was a mouthful. I doubt anyone will see or care about this topic lol

Dude, count me in. I’ll do my best to get on this weekend for it. I love these DLC maps.

Although I honestly prefer

Breakpoint- Invasion
Highlands- CTF
Tempest- Assault

Those are just the best

Unfortunately, I haven’t played the DLC’s a lot so I can’t remember the names! I got all the packs though so I don’t mind any if I am on.

Im all up for hanging out on various DLC maps. I own all the DLC including Anniversary. I might not make it every week but I think this is an awesome idea. Id rather not get to many Friend Requests from this due to the fact that I only get on Reach about 1 time a night.

I’d love to play the dlc again. but I don’t know if i’m going to be online at that time but feel free to send a friend request
