i bought halo reach when it first came out and i recently downloaded it as a free game from xbox live and i was liutenent colonel and they deranked me to a warent first class and i really want to know how i can get my rank back because i think its ppointless to restart
Were you playing online when you first got the game? Or just offline (no XBL gold membership)? If you were playing offline, then this is an intentional feature created by Bungie to prevent rank boosters from taking their high ranks online. If this isn’t the case, then I am not sure what as happened.
Ranks cannot be manually changed since all the info is stored on the matchmaking server and not controlled by an actual person. So I’m afraid you are now stuck at your current rank.

It would appear that the servers have either overloaded, or are under unannounced maintenance.
It’s the pits, didn’t get my credits for doing the Legenday Matchmaking challenge and I got reset to recruit afterwards.
Well there goes my day of grinding out ranks and hoping to get dlc maps to polish off achievements that I never got.
Maybe they’re going to do the dlc playlist finally…doubt it.

As people have stated previously, 343i only supports Reach on a maintenance level. This does not include adding or removing playlists, or changing how playlists function.

Thus why “…doubt it”
Fear the same thing will happen with Halo 4 though. I’m unable to play it thanks to my disc drive dying and being poor and not able to afford a repair.
But anyway again my day is blown for the time being off to watch youtube
wanting 343 to fix this issue would be pointless i think.
It’s probacly just a server problem. Should fix itself.
