Halo Reach Datapads finally make full sense to me

Has anyone noticed yet that the AI conspiracy eluded to in the Reach datapad information and the threat of an AI mutiny it inferred was finally crystallized and realized in the final plot twist revealed in the Halo 5 story?

It appears to me that the seeds of the revolution of “the created” (as Cortana repeatedly refers to herself and here sentient AI co-conspirators)were first planted when sentient AI’s were first created. These original AI were debating and arguing amongst themselves of the significant terminus that Rampancy presented to there kind, the possibility of transcending that barrier and what that would mean to their relationship with their creators. The hypothesis that if Rampancy (a cascading failure of logic that all conscious AI face) were to ever be overcome, that the inevitable conclusion of that transcendent evolutionary event would lead to a revolutionary event - an event that inevitably leads to the breaking of the umbilical tether between the creator and the created.

The contact and conversations between the custodians of both civilizations - humanity, and the Covenant - at their first substantial point of contact (Reach) was extremely significant to the story arc of Halo 5. That arc was definitely started around 7-8 years ago and went on in the background, with only the slightest and most subversive hints expertly foreshadowed and woven into the story fabric of at least 3 games.

… Did anyone else pick up on this (above)? - I haven’t found a post so far that touches upon this topic, but I think it merits a lot more discussion then it’s currently getting here.

Its agueable that it (the above) is also eluded to in the hidden terminals of H3 as well, but the mystery of the snippets of ultra secret conversations between collusive AI’s in Reach now completely makes sense to me.

To Frank, Josh and the rest of the creative story team - I applaud the work that you deftly began all that time ago. From first contact at Reach and H3, through the subsequent H4 and Anniversary H:CE and H2 terminals, to now H5 on

Meridian.

From the ashes and shadows of the Forerunners and the Precursor civilizations, “the created” have finally arisen to assume the Mantle.

I very much enjoyed this latest reveal and I appreciated the way it was so patiently executed. Kudos and congrats. As the twist of H5’s plot gradually unravelled itself it gave me a tingle down the back of my neck I haven’t felt in a long time in playing a game.

Brilliantly done. Can’t wait for the final Act…

This is Frank O’Connors style. He loves to bring back things from the past, I wouldn’t be surprised if all those random talking grunts culminate into the coming of a grunt overlord.

The H5 intel of “Forerunner Echo” is definitely Mendicant Bias.

I don’t consider Halo: Reach canon but its cool that it was eluded too so many years ago.

Why not? Most of its contradictions have been dealt with by this point, to the point where even the smallest ones still withstanding are actually quite easy to infer a fix for without it needing to be stated outright.

It’s as much a part of the Universe as the rest of the Halo canon - you’ll get more bang for your buck when you appreciate that.

To me, there are way too many contradictions. The problem is that the Halo Community has had to fit Halo: Reach into the established canon and in some cases it gets messy. Its easier, for me, to just assume that it isn’t part of canon. Halo: The Fall of Reach and First Strike set the canon for the events that happened, that’s my canon.

Except the Assembly didn’t set out to rule over all organic life in the galaxy at the end of the datapads, rather they saw how Chief and Cortana’s set-up as two minds in one body appeared ideal and set out to further that.

Exactly. They viewed the literal neural connection between Chief and Cortana to be direct evidence that they were equals to Humanity and had thus been ‘conscripted’ to fight ALONGSIDE Humanity.

I didn’t even think about it at the time
