Hello everyone, it has recently come to my attention that many community members have been expressing a shared concern; Halo:Reach is dying. One community member in particulur express’s his concern of this in these next quotes,"Many things since the Halo:Reach beta have degraded,I am not sure why this has happened and I’m not here to point figers, but literally everyone I know on Xbox Live agrees that there have been major degrades to gameplay. One degrade in particular is the Frag grenade, the “holy” frag grenade of the halo rech beta to be exact. It was siad to be “over-powered"I say, it was not over-powered but it evened out the plasma grenade which is a instant-kill if it was in a specific radius much like the holy frag grenade did. With this addition to the game the sytem was even and I found it to not only be more fair but also incredibly more fun.” When this came to my attention I took it upon myself to start this forum and hear from the community so we can give 343 the much needed polite and accurate feedback. Please post any comments or ideas you have below, The community must come first!
(I have now posted this in mutiple areas)
I believe Halo:reach to be a very popular game. One of my favorites! The population has had a decrease however and that is a fact. I think a majority of people may have left just for the next new thing. However they could have simply not liked Halo:Reach. I think H:CEA will be a shot in the arm for the population. I don’t really believe there is cause for concern at the moment. I am sure if there were cause for concern 343 would do what it could to help foster a healthy population. You could even consider the TU as such. I am not just talking about the TU Beta hopper but the options made available through the TU. I have high hopes for the new gamtypes and settings coming with H:CEA.
What he said but I’m pretty sure H:CEA will bring some more people. I mean, the multiplayer is Reach’s so…
Reach still gets 70,000-100,000 at peak times, so it most certainly is doing well compared to the majority of other Xbox 360 games. It might be considered a little low for a Halo game though. It’s hard to bring new players into a game after it’s been out for a year. Hopefully CE:A will give it a nice bump.
Well, there are several people who want to play halo but who can’t.
I used to have a friend who really wanted to be able to play halo whenever etc. But he didn’t have an xbox and he came to my house to play.
He got an xbox now but his Reach disc broke so he’ll buy a new one.
I’ve got another friend who REALLLY wants a 360 so he can play halo. He really likes halo too, like my other friend before.
I agree with what you have to say but unfortunatly its not living up to its potential the beta was almost perfect and as one of you siad it is doing well for other games but not what halo players want I dont think that halo anniversary will really have any problems because it is tough to ruin possibly the best game ever created for xbox. Also I beleive that this is a cause for concern even though though the gme is getting old because if bugnie goes out like this and 343 will just let it we will not have the memories that bungie wanted us to experience ever since halo 1.
Oh yeah I almost forgot by getting your opions I have now seen that most of you agree that reach is dead but I am afraid that If I would of posted this earlier I probly could have made a difference with the community I am just afraid that good people like you want be able to post your opions any so I encourage to keep posting so a fail of a game cannot be created again.
Wait, wut?
Halo Reach is bad because they nerfed the super overpowered frags?
There’s a lot that’s wrong with Reach, and rebalancing the grenades aren’t part of the issue.
I don’t like Reach.
At all. Seriously, in my honest and truthful opinion it has to be the worst Halo game ever created. I continue to play it for one reason, it’s a Halo game.
As soon as Halo 4 comes out. Reach gets either shelved or sold.
343 can try their hardest to fix this game, but truthfully, this game is beyond fixing. I give them props for trying, but it’s a futile effort.
Ya know why I play Halo: Reach? Because I like it. Nah, love it. I love it as much as CE.
Ya know why I traded my Halo3 in for awhile and played ME and MW for like 5-7 months? Because I didn’t like it. I bought it again because of the Vidmasters and it was $70 for an English and French-Canadian version that I traded in for Halo3: ODST… so
Ya know why I played MW but not MW2 or BO? Because I don’t like them but I did MW1.
Ya know why I played so much Halo2? Because I played a lot more videogames back then and it was my friends chanting me on to come play that kept me coming back. It took a long while for H2 to grow on me. Pretty much took the Map-disc time for me to finally enjoy H2 as Bungie had found a way to at least build the maps to bring a bit of balance back into the game-play. I loved me my RedStorm FPSs and MechWarriors more so back then (VTOL and Hammer-king ;)). A few hundred hours into Morrowind and Forza too.
agreed completely in every way thank you for agreeing with the piont I was trying to make but also I believe it is fixable, but not the way that 343 is trying to, the rebuild would have to start from the beta which was awesome and restart. Oh and hey maybe in 10 years they,ll remake reach and it will be better than ever but whatever they do halo will always live on.
Hey everyone Im back great comments and for those of you that are discussing the thing about people not being able to play halo I just thought what if for a torture they locked us all up in a room and made us watch championship dominoes with no hope of ever playing halo again? That would suck major suck.
I don’t play Reach because none of my friends do and the people I get matched with on my team almost always suck.
Halo reach is not “dying”. Dying would imply that as the population is decreasing at such a rate that at one point “halo reach < halo 3” in terms of population.
People still get on and I get on when I can. But with the amount of next gen FPS front runners out (MW3, BF3, and GOW) its hard to get reachs population up.
I think the current population is a result of many problems.
First, this is the first time Halo has any true competition for the market.
This was also at the same time Bungie made some questionable choices in the game. I know quite a few long-time Halo fans that simply don’t care for Reach.
The transition from Bungie to 343i most likely didn’t help the cause. While the transition went fairly smoothly, the concept could have easily scared off a chunk of population.

I like you reaper. You are symbolic of everything I want this community to be.
You realize that MW1 was an awesome game but the sequels were just bad repetitions.
You dont praise previous games just for nostalgias sake, and you seem to remember what was wrong with halo 3.
Keep on keeping on, thank
