Microsoft unintentionally announced that Halo: Reach will be backwards compatible November 12, or somewhere near that date.
Hopefully, Reach will get a much-needed population boost with the addition of XB1 players who may not like the MCC, Halo 5, or 343’s direction in general (Halo 5 has been generally well-received, but there are a good amount of complaints as well from the community).
I predict that Reach’s population will get to around 30,000-40,000 players, which is a solid increase from its 15,000-20,000 players today. If the game is as popular or more popular than my prediction, Reach may get one final update, which will hopefully adjust playlists and add a DLC playlist for those who own it.
Very exciting news for Halo: Reach players! Don’t let Reach die out guys–we must keep playing it to keep it alive and show 343 that it is still an important game to the Halo community!

Edit 11/11/15:
Figured I would give an update to the Reach community:
Backwards compatibility for Halo Reach will not become a reality until December/Early 2016. Again, Halo Reach is not one of the 104 backwards compatible titles. Bummer.
My theory on why the only Halo title to be released in November is Spartan Assault is here.
I cannot wait for Reach to be released; the population should get a much needed boost.
Thanks guys!
PS: Sorry for the wrong information in the beginning; its really hard to predict what Microsoft/343i do these days!

> Hell yes. Still on Reach quite a bit nowadays. Halo 5 is garbage
Yeah I wouldn’t say its garbage but I don’t like where the franchise is heading. Its doesn’t remind me of Halo in the least, honestly. I am so excited for Reach on the XB1! It might put me over the top for getting the console even.
Halo 5 is garbage it is actually worse than Halo 4 because of weapon balance and map balance. And reach was amazing but honestly 343 -Yoinked!- up the balance for reach as well. All in all if reach is backwards compatible you will be seeing me online with it.
Honestly if there are no major changes to Halo 5 in that time, Halo Reach should pick back up quite a bit and I’m okay with this. To be honest, once Battlefront drops, it won’t entirely survive.
I dont think its going to be THAT huge…and lets face it the only people who are heading back are the ones who cant hack it in Halo 5.
Go right ahead, and take your -Yoink- clans with you
Reach is one of my all time favorite Halo games. I loved the customization of the main character and how it was implemented. Don’t get me wrong, MC is a great character, but i liked the some what RPG feel it gave the franchise… And i loved the story
I gotta admit halo 5 isn’t bad. Sure they fixed some mistakes but overall it’s a completely different game. I can’t play them both the same way. Gameplay changes. Strategy changes. But I still play them both nonetheless. Great games in their own way…Except Halo 4. Lol. 343 was not ready to put out a halo game on their own.
