What are they for? Like… how do you earn them? I’ve earned:

Joint Service
Halo: Reach A.C.E.
I also just earned:
Team Player
Warrior
Distinguished Service

They’re Halo Waypoint awards. You earn them by collecting Achievements across the Halo series (from Halo 3 onwards). There’s really no point to them, apart from unlocking a few extra armour pieces in the Reach Armoury.
You never know they mite add something for those awards, likes unlocks in halo 4.

im not being lazy, i couldnt find it anywhere. i didnt know it was on the waypoint 360. i thought, “if it isnt on the Halo Waypoint site, why would it be on the 360 app?” which is a more simple and condensed version… no need for insults…
I also just checked out the awards I had on my career overview page and I think Distinguished Service is when you complete the campaign on legendary alone. I don’t know for sure however I recently completed the campaign alone on legendary and the date of the medal I received corresponds with the day I finished the last mission. Hope I could help some.

Complete a level of the reach campaign on legendary without dying gets you an award.
Get a killtacular or killtrocity in multiplayer matchmaking gets you an award.
I don’t know about the others.
