Halo Reach at 60fps?

343, please. I’m a PC gamer but I’ve recently dusted off my old xbox one to play the MCC with some friends. We want to play the reach campaign but it’s legitimately unplayable. Asking me to play with a controller is bad enough, but you add 30fps to the “I want to die” pie and you have an unplayable disaster. The 720p I can take. 30fps I can’t. I know one of the final fantasy games just recently got their textures updated to look better on the xbox one backwards-compatible version of the game so I know making changes to the backwards compatible version is doable.

  1. Please. I’m begging you. If you’re not going to make Halo playable on the PC, at least make the games playable on the Xbox.

(Lol as someone who hasn’t touched a console in years I thought I was through with begging developers for “features” that shouldn’t even be in question, like minimum-60fps gameplay. One of the many reasons I’ll never invest in a new console).

I’m on your side. I can tolerate lower resolutions, but the frame rate i can not. It has been keeping me from playing my favorite halo game (Reach) for nearly a year.

I’d love it on PC, so I could get 60FPS, if not higher, but even if it’s not on PC, If there could be some frame rate enhancements to the Xbox one Backwards compatibility version, or added to the MCC, I would be most grateful!

Heck! I’m willing to pay for the game again, just to get that frame boost!

It is the only halo game that does not yet have a single version of it that runs at 60fps. Heck, I play halo wars in 60fps! if Halo wars can get a re-release, why can’t halo reach?

It’s the 360 back compat team that deals with enhancements for 360 games, not 343i.

Your only chance is if it’s added to MCC. However, don’t get back down just yet. Reach, like expanded armor customization and ODST firefight, is a highly requested feature. Maybe in the future, but we’ll have to wait and see.

While I know that emulators can at least simulate higher frame rates than intended, I honestly wouldn’t expect anything too significant to be done to any backwards compatible Xbox/Xbox 360 title in regards to frame rate. Remember that these games are all running in emulators when played on Xbox One so it isn’t as simple as “the Xbox One’s more powerful so the frame rate should be higher.”

Just as an update, the Master Chief Collection will be getting Halo: Reach, with 60 FPS and 4K visuals.

Halo: Reach is coming to the PC with 60FPS and 4K visuals later this year.

Don’t revive dead topics, but to add to the discussion

It would be, simply put, hard as all bollocks to make the engine render everything twice as fast, and even then, that’s the hacky way of doing it. Texture replacement is far easier than rewriting the engine to crank out twice the frames, and you don’t even account for special actions that rely on counting frames for their timing.

Simple put, this is near impossible to the Backwards compatibility version, and I’d be hard pressed to find a game that runs at a different framerate from the original.

Also, if this code is being modified, you can guarantee this WILL break compatibility between the 360 and the Xbone version.

Im not sure exactly, but i thought they said that reach would be coming to Xbox and PC with enhancements. Im sure if you have a XOX you will get 60 FPS when it comes to MCC. Lets hope for the best!
