I would like the Halo reach armor style to return in h5g. It was one of the main reasons I loved and kept on playing Halo Reach not just me but also to many other Reach lasted a long time because of it and forge…
Its something a lot of people would LOVE for it to return with also playable elites or another character or specie to be able to play as in the multiplayer of h5g…
Thank you <3
agree !
I agree, but when I look at h5g’s beta armory, which is supposed to deliver a first glimpse at the final product, it’s likely they’ll keep h4’s armor style with some new additions…
Reach nailed it with armor. I mean, just look at my Reach guy. That’s so awesome! H4 and H5 armor is cool, but something just seems off. Not as badass

Agreed, Reach had some of the better, grittier, less horribly saturated colors and textures in the entire Halo saga.
Besides, my Spartan was pretty awesome for Bungie Day.
While I do love the Reach armour and think that the new armour in Halo 4 was pretty terrible, I have to admit that the sets that 343i is introducing in Halo 5 look pretty good. Between Fred’s armour,to The first two armours in the Beta art, Nightfall armour, and Locke’s suit, you can tell that 343i is focusing more on the functional and sleek designs of past Halo games rather than the power rangers of Halo 4. I have high hopes in Halo 5’s armour design, at the very least.
Also, Helioskrill armour. Need I really say more?
i like the halo 3 armor and art style the most but h5 is ok they just need to tone down the color
The topic title made me think something was announced related to Reach style armor xD

The armor in Halo 4 and 5 looks less realistic. It looks more like plastic instead of metal. 343 really needs to change this and needs to add the black undersuits back.
People need to stop making misleading titles. I opened this thread thinking Reach’s armor would return and the OP had a source.

You sir are absolutely right
In Halo Reach Spartans looked like they should look.
They are super soldiers so make them look like this (Reach did that perfectly with all these functional looking armor pieces, the details like scratches and this badass dark armor colors)
And please don’t fool us again with plastic power rangers, I mean the only armor I liked was Fotus because there is nothing better than hunting Unicorns with shotguns
The gist of Halo 4’s style was okay but taken too far, personally it’s bugged me since Halo 2 that armor options didn’t include ammo pouches of any kind (till Reach). Disappointed at Halo 4 that it went too anime style with not enough utility to them.
Also let us color the under-suit what we want and not have it be part of the secondary color. I personally like it black.
totally agree OP

not to mention the magical Armour plates that are attached to the body…but NOT attached to the body and just float near the body…

I hope so, I didnt personally like reach for many reasons, but the customization is phenomenal. Even if they took H4 sets and gave them the gruff feel I’d be okay with it.

In the Halo Reach beta you didn’t have all of the customization options in the final game. You could only select helmet/shoulder/chest. In the final game you had the wrist attatchments, visor colors, shin guards, hip cases, etc. Hopefully this beta follows the same way Reach did.
Halo reach was hands down the best artistic direction for the franchise in my opinion. Everything felt like it should. I talked about this a lot in the Halo 4 forums about how they just looked like machines not Spartans and I was extremely depressed to see the design in this beta was cookie cutter Halo 4 with only a few exceptions. I hope they change that for the retail release but we shouldn’t hold our breath. I also think the unlock system in general was better in Reach. Halo 4 was too specified to the point it was a turn off to unlock stuff instead of being a natural progression.
Some of the designs like Recon, Aviator, Defender, Air assault might be place holders as they look just like h4s, Scout, Helioskrill, Mrk 6, Recruit, Anthlon all look better now in my opinion, and by that i mean the art direction as anthlon and helioskrill are new.
Also, the armors shouldnt be all scratched and such, just making them look like aluminium is ok
Halo Reach had really good armor and I agree a lot that Elites should be back! In Halo 4, the armor wasn’t super good because there was a lot of open space showing and barely any metal covering your Spartan for most armors.
Yes. I loved how armor looked in Reach, to this day it is still my favorite when it comes to armor design. They looked very well worn and gritty.
