I would get behind a Reach Anniversary so quick if they announced one. I know it’s currently backwards compatible on the Xbox One, but I feel like a revamped version of the game designed for the Xbox One from the beginning could be really awesome. Halo: Reach was my first Halo game and the reason why I’m such a Halo addict to this day. I have a few reasons why a remastered edition is necessary over the current backwards compatible version:
The first is the frame rate. I currently cannot enjoy Halo: Reach simply because of the fact that the game runs so slow (NOT related to the current server issues, just how the game’s been running for me since it was released for Xbox One). I figure this is because Reach was not designed for the Xbox One’s system, so it just doesn’t run smoothly like it does on the Xbox 360. An Anniversary Edition would give 343 an opportunity to improve run-time and frame rate.
EDIT: I found out that this was because of a bug from quite a few months ago; the fix was just to reinstall it on the Xbox One.
Also, the player count is dropping (I think no more than 1,000 people play it at a time now). I figure this is because there are newer Halo games out and people would rather play those instead of an older Halo. But of course, if Halo: Reach was released again it it would be the new Halo! People would get online and play it again like I remember from my first introduction to the Halo universe.
Finally, as this always comes with remastered versions, the graphics would be amped up to current generation standards.
I really feel like this is a viable suggestion for 343 to consider. Halo: Reach had a very memorable campaign (no matter what the haters say, I was feeling those emotions as I fought to my final breath on the Lone Wolf mission). The armor was much more customizable that in any other Halo, and in an Anniversary Edition it could have an all new selection of armor sets in addition to the originals. Firefight, in my opinion, was better than Spartan Ops from Halo 4 and Warzone Firefight from Halo 5, and I would love to see it return. My brother and I spent a lot of time together playing split-screen Firefight, and honestly I miss that. And of course I probably don’t even need to mention Forge World, which none of its successors have topped. And with the Xbox One capabilities the World could be expanded to include multiple environments within the one World, instead of multiple smaller forge canvases like in current Halo games.
And a side note: A release of the background music from the Deliver Hope trailer?? It’s the one song that you didn’t include in the Halo: Reach music album, and also coincidentally the most powerful song I’ve heard relating to Reach. What an emotional piece, I would die happy if I could hear that song in its entirety.
Personally, I think the visuals are just fine. Sure, 4 looks very pretty, but I don’t think there’s much need to improve on Reach. It seems like it would be too easy to inadvertently change the “feel”.
If the customization & firefight were kept as they are and expanded (rather than replaced/overhauled), it might be worth it. (Some hopeful precedent there: The versions of 1 and 2 in the MCC have the original multiplayer.)
With these two in mind, I would certainly be interested in seeing it on PC, though…
I’d be all for it too. It should also have dlc maps chucked in there too on the release as well for free. The amount of times I wish I can play breakpoint again. Also with the networking on the game switching to dedicated servers, I’d be more than happy to play that. The amount of times I got shot through a wall or assassinated from the front was ridiculous. The reach campaign was also good.
Noble Team was deployed to Sword Base Today - Reds and Blues are killing each other on New Alexandria - New Mombasa political riot is getting out of hand the mayor requested martial law
I’d personally like for them to just update the game in terms of customization & content. There are too many ill sighted players who cheat and it would be nice for 343i to step in, even for a moment.

That’s a good point. I think the MCC has all DLC maps included as well. I wouldn’t mind some extra firefight maps at all, and some new armor pieces couldn’t hurt (as long as they’re not locked behind the grind). On that note, it might mean I could finally use my spartan as a profile avatar…
I miss reach. Reach was the home of the best clans and community, it had the best armor sets the best battles and the most of all is the story Remember Reach
It doesn’t need to be an Anniversary edition. We just need a ‘Definitive Edition’
Keep the graphics, they are great already. - Up the game to 1080p and 60fps (the only issue with the BC version) - Add in 4 player co-op split screen for campaign as well as improving fps in MP (Because it’s awesome) - Keep LAN - Keep everything else the same - Add in the DLC map packs - Add in a few new controller options (Yes I’m talking fishstick) - Add in clan support (a la Destiny/Halo 5/Halo 2)And that’s pretty much it. Though personally I’d like to see bloom be completely removed, at least with precision weapons.
No doubt about it. Reach is by far one of my favorite Halo games. The campaign was one you got emotionally attached to. I cried a few times and I’m a grown man. I just hope if they did do a remake they wouldn’t change any dialogue, maps, etc. Maybe update the graphics, but keep the dark film grain feel the game has.
