halo reach/anniversary playlists

Let me start the conversation off by saying this: Halo anniversary is awesome. I was, and still am a huge halo1 fan. I still play xbconnect and travel miles upon miles to LAN with some good players. Halo CE is my favorite game of all time, and always will be. Halo Anniversary did a pretty good job of remaking this game. The campaign is awesome, I have nothing to say about that… my only complains lay in matchmaking.
Halo in general needs better matchmaking. We need to be able to have more custom options! For example, I want to play CTF sometimes. Instead of having a CTF playlist, I have to have a big team battle playlist. I do not like all the game types in big team battle. I don’t understand why I can’t just play CTF. Same thing goes for MLG game types. I want to play MLG slayer, I do not want to vote. Why can’t there be a playlist for every game type?!?
Please take radar off in halo anniversary. Yes, halo CE did have default radar, however anyone who competed in the game and was good enough to appreciate the game HATED RADARS! Please take them off… or at least, have a playlist where they are not present. I want to be able to play the game type I want, whenever I want. I do not think I am asking for too much either. I tend to talk about this topic a lot over xbox live, and people seem to agree with me. Call of duty, battlefield, gears of war, all have this option. You select hte playlist you want to play, and it stays that way! If you get bored of the playlist, you leave the game and join another playlist. Please make these changes…

I strongly agree.

here’s a whole list of things that Halo CE didn’t have that 343 put into Anniversary matchmaking;

  1. Bloom
  2. Vehicles that get blown up by small arms fire
  3. Armor Abilities- Jetpack breaks map control(especially on Breakneck)
  4. Elite Slayer
  5. DMR starts

Why did 343 release a title update allowing zero bloom and then not implement it into halo anniversary matchmaking. Classic, my a3s.

Not many people have Anniversary in normal playlist and those who do want to actually be able to vote for the maps. I think that the CE Classic maps should have ONLY the CE Weapons and Vehicles. How does that not make sense. There should be no DMR starts in those playlists anyway. It should be AR/Pistol. If you want one, find one on the map.

Exactly. I thought they would try to recreate Halo CE multiplayer in Reach using the title update. But nope, its just another Reach map pack. Armor abilities, elite slayer, and dmr starts which kills vehicle gameplay ruin the Big Team playlist.

The title update did indeed have some awesome settings. I wish those settings were in the playlist. All I’m saying is, I don’t really think its that hard to ‘code’ or create more playlists that cater to specific needs. For example, zero bloom slayer should be a playlist. I can’t imagine it being that hard to do that. Yes, there will be ‘less’ people per playlist, however, you are still going to find games and play games. For example, lets say there are 1000 people at any given time playing MLG. Now lets say the playlist splits the different game types apart.
Here is what the ‘new’ playlist could look like
MLG (1000 current players online)
MLG team slayer (400 players online)
MlG ctf (250 players online)
MLG oddball (350 palyers online)

would anyone mind a playlist that looked like that? Instead of voting for game type, we just vote for map. Thats how all the other great games are!
