Halo Reach and Anniversary multiplayer

So I have a very specific question, and haven’t seem any answers, since the search terms bring back tons of condeluded speculation.

So I’ll make the framework of my question.

My friend has Halo Reach, and he does NOT want to buy Halo Anniversary.
I have both Halo Reach and Halo Anniversary.

If I want to play with my friend on Halo Reach maps, is there any way I can do that from the Halo anniversary maps?

I know that I can give him my download code to play Halo Anniversary maps, then we could play those 7 maps together, but we would be limited to those 7 maps (correct?)

So is there any way for me and him to enjoy Sword Base together while I’m on my Anniversary disc, and him playing Halo Reach?

No. You need to download the maps to play the mulitplayer on the CE disc. you cant give it to him. Also the CE mulitplayer for reach only offers the anniversary playlist. So if you want to play with your friend, you will have to switch disc, and if you want to play the maps together, he is going to need to buy them.

What I meant with the code was I could give my friend the Halo Anniversary maps, so I could play those 7 maps from the Halo CEA disc, and my friend can play with me from his Reach with the 7 maps, if I let him download the maps.

Or… is this not correct?

The only way the pair of you can play together is for you to use the code for the anniversary maps included with your copy of Halo: CEA and for your friend to download the maps from the Xbox game marketplace. The maps were put on the market place the other day for people who want the maps but don’t want to buy Halo:CEA. They cost 1200 msp

In response to you playing Sword base together, that can only happen with you both playing from the Reach disc, the Halo: CEA disc cant be used to played any Reach maps other than Anniversary ones. I can’t say if you can play the anniversary maps together with you using CEA disc and your friend using his reach disc but by the looks of things they have set it up so you can do that but I’m not sure as I havent tried it

why not play your Reach disc with your buddy?

i’m confused. :frowning:
