Can the achievments added to Reach from Anniversary be done in the Anniversary maps? Or do you need to use the “Reach” maps? Also what achievments can be done with Custom game and which can be done on Matchmaking?
All the achievements have either “Defiant:” or “Anniversary:” in their description. They have to be done on a map from that map pack.

Definitely, especially since many of them would be rare occurrences for Reach in general. Add in that it’s essentially impossible to play on DLC maps outside of DLC specific playlist and that means that you basically need to boost to get several of these new achievements.
You sure? The previous “Noble” and “Defiant” achievments didn’t have to be done on the maps I don’t think?
In fact I got a few of the previous Defiant ones doing Custom games with friends on vanilla reach maps

Agreed. The prior defiant achieve’s could be done on any map (with the exception of the invasion achievement). I did all the flag achieve’s on sword base.
I see where they are coming from: they want to ensure that people are holding on to and continuing to play Reach. It is still messed up though and, for the record, that flag achieve on the new list is ridiculous. It took me hours and I only lucked out because the other team had some whiney noobs that did nothing but betray.
So the new achievments have to be done on those mappacks? Got ya
