Does anyone ever know what happened to that cancelled Megabloks Halo crossover game that was planned awhile back? It’s known to the public under the project name ‘haggar’ (Haggar - Cancelled game - Halopedia, the Halo wiki). I’m just wondering what the story is with that?
EDIT: I fully understand this was the game that never needed to happen and am not in favor of any type of resurrection. The brand needs to be kept sacred so to speak and for awhile there with all the Spartan Strike stuff etc they were starting to get lost in the milking.
I think somewhere in development the developers knew there was a potential threat of it being vastly overshadowed by the more popular LEGO video games. That’s my take on it, anyway. I could very well be wrong.
Here is a note from Bonnie Ross about project haggar. It looks like it was just a fun little prototype that didn’t gain much traction. Shame I would’ve enjoyed giving it a go.

Yeah I agree. There are actually tons of screenshots floating around out there so there seems to have been a semi-playable build at one point.

Eh, yeah, but I don’t see it in some sort of weird competition with Lego games as a whole just because it’s Mega Blok themed. Don’t get me wrong though, it would have probably been better for Halo to work with Lego than Mega Bloks
I would have loved to see it but I understand why they let it go.
Honestly this thread has gotten me more interested in the potential Lego vs Megabloks rivalry that could have been. I loved the lego games, but yea they were always bound to be more popular anyways.
The most important thing to remember about cancelled projects is: there’s always a reason. By the time Haggar gets cancelled there must have been hundreds if not thousands of development hours already. The only reason you shut something like that down is if there are fundamental issues you don’t think can be overcome economically.
If the concerns had been about Megabloks vs Lego I doubt exploration would have advanced as far as it did
