Halo Port on Switch (Discussion)

Hypothetically, if there was a halo game ported to switch, which do you think would port best? While there’s talk of Halo MCC getting a switch release, I don’t know how well that would play, though of course, I would be all for it, I would be kinda skeptical of how it plays (Performance, Controllers, etc) but I’d still be into it. I’d think something more like the Halo Wars games would port a little better, Joycons don’t have very good sticks for shooter aiming, so I’d think something that requires less precision like those would port better.

What would you want ported? and why?

I think it’d make the most sense to port CE, give the switch userbase a taste for the franchise and if they want to explore other halo titles they’ll be encouraged to purchase Halo on steam or go one step further and buy an Xbox.

In a perfect world every game is on every device and exclusivity doesn’t exist

Given the layout on a switch controller, the two twin-stick shooters, Spartan Assault and Spartan Strike, would be doable.

That would assume that Nintendo and Microsoft would be willing to partner on the venture of course.

You know this was one of my original thoughts as well, neglected to conclude it given the communities seeming opinion of the two lol

For me, Halo 3 ODST.

If I could only choose one current game it’d definitely be MCC. I think it’d be able to run the games fine because I believe the Switch is somewhere in between an XB1 and XB1X. If that’s true (correct me if I’m wrong), it should be able to run it well enough if the XB1 can. Even if it couldn’t on its own, they can use streaming to boost it like they did with DOOM for example. Yes the joycon controllers are horrible but I don’t think that should be a reason it doesn’t happen. You can always get a pro controller which are way better than joycons if you really wanted to.

I know it doesn’t really count, but I would still like to play the cancelled Halo DS game. We only saw gameplay from IGN. Maybe 343 could do it after they finish working on Infinite

Yeah they aren’t the best games, but as far as being portable to Switch, they seem pretty easy to do. Granted I’m not a tech person, but they look like simple enough games to port to almost anything really.

I feel like it could be spartan assault or if they come out with a new version of the switch the MCC

My only thing against mcc being on it is Halo 2 Anniversary, sure theres graphics settings they can tone down and all but it has frame rate issues on even the Series X (source: experience)
