Halo poem (for my English class, help?)!!

Hey guys for my assignment I have to make a poem. Here are the instructions.

Introduce Your Pilgrim in a short poem containing:
• 16-line minimum
• Iambic pentameter throughout
• Two (2) sets of rhyming couplets
• Two (2) examples of direct characterization
• Two (2) examples of indirect characterization
• A clear explanation about where your pilgrim is travelling
• A clear explanation why this destination is important
• Address a minimum of six (6) elements from questions 1-9

I was thinking about having my pilgrim be a marine from Halo. Maybe a marine and his squad have orders to take a “pilgrimage” to installation 04 with news there may be flood spores that have survived that have over taken a small UNSC frigate. Each line has to have about 10 syllables. I’m making an iMovie along with this (as extra credit) with pictures and clips from Halo to help people understand it better.

Muscular, Sharp, wits as fast as a computer
Top of his class, on his first mission with his crew
But this Marine is scared out of his wits
He’s only heard about this parasite
On his way to this artificial planet
Shaped as a ring called Halo hoping he won’t stay long
This ring has been long destroyed yet it still rings
A ship gone missing along all these debris
He must destroy this ship before it spreads
In all of thee debris he sees the ship
He warns his crew and prepares to board it
As dark as a wolfs mouth he sees nothing but black
He is soon comforted as his crew has his back
Out of nowhere he is attacked
Open fire he cries as he is attacked
Wave after wave they withstand the attack
As they run low on ammo he remembers the plan
Get out and run as fast as a cat
Before that he needs to detonate the nuke
As he pulls it out of the pack he screams
As terrified as can be he is bit
His crew shoots the beast off of his body
He tells his crew to leave and they do as he pleased
He looks back one more time to see if they leave
He crawls to the nuke to detonate thee
3 2 1 he is at the most peace he could be

I know it needs work but i was hoping to get some feedback…as you can see I’m not very good at this stuff lol I’m more of a math and science guy.

thanks man I think I’m going to use the clips from the mona lisa motion comic and the nuke scene as John crawls tword the nuke in Halo 4.

any one have suggestions on what song I should use?

There seems to be quite a bit of repetition of certain words and phrases, unless you’re doing that purposefully. Attack, wits, and crew for example.

I’d recommend reading some poetry by Wilfred Owen or Siegfried Sassoon to get a taste of war imagery, especially if you want that gritty feeling. Exposure by WO, is a brilliant one that could help.

This might be a bit late, but music wise, do something like “To Galaxy” or “117” if your looking for Halo-related tracks.
My suggestion is something slow and sentimental-ish. Up to you
