On May 31st, Gamespy servers will go offline. Included in the list of games is both Halo: Combat Evolved (PC) and Halo: Custom Edition.
This incredibly sadness me as the Halo PC/CE communities are still very active despite how old the game is (More active than H2V). People are still creating custom maps for Halo: Custom Edition all the time. At the moment it looks like the server list will shut down but direct IP will still work.
No fix (either from the modding community or from 343i) is in the works as far as we know.
I never even got to play it.
If direct IP still really does work after the servers die, then online still has a thin sliver of hope.
I doubt Microsoft or 343 will do anything about this and this probably is out the hands of modders. Maybe if GoG could get their hands on it, they could do something, but it will be a cold day in hell before Microsoft lets that happen.
I’m sure people will end up hosting their own servers instead of using Gamespy’s, like how 343i did the same to Halo 2 pc servers, yet people still used their own servers.
Fans will always find a way, like how Doom fans have multiply engines to run classic Doom games with multiplayer.

I know petitions are not allowed here, but forum monitors please be aware this isn’t anything most of the stupid petitions that are done. This effects a huge amount of people and would actually save their Halo experience if it was passed. So we all hope you don’t remove the link but we respect that it’s your job too.
If it has been removed, my video here has the link to it in the description.
Please don’t revive old topics thanks
