Halo: Paramount Plus series episode one review

So just started my free trial on Paramount Plus and decided to give the Halo tv a try, despite the negative reviews. Upon viewing the first episode, I’ll give my review.

To start off, the effects seem good, although could be a little better. I’m talking of course about the costumes. They seem good, although I think they could be a little better. And the design of the Elites seem a little…off. They all like the Arbiter, instead of their usual combat harness.

I’m not sure about the plot so far. There seems so much distrust of the UNSC, like they’re painted as the bad guys.

And then there’s the casting, such as Margaret Parangosky, Jacob and Miranda Keyes. They didn’t even get them to look like how we remember them to be, but instead replaced them with different people entirely. I don’t get the purpose behind that. And Halsey with an accent, what?

And I’m not sure what the purpose of the Forerunner artifact is so far, but I guess I’ll learn more as I go on.

And the most confusing part, just what is a human doing on High Charity?

So that’s my take so far. I’ve heard of some pretty bad reviews about the series so far, so I’ll see far myself how bad this series may be, and I’ll hope it will get better later on.

Just keep in mind that they said this is the “silver timeline” or whatever… Basically it’s a show that uses the likeliness of Halo and doesn’t relate to the games, books or original lore what so ever.

I don’t want to necessaily give spoilers but if the show feels off and you hope it’ll improve…it won’t. If anything its a bit of a downward spiral from here. The action is okay but other than that writing and characterization is totally shot in this show.

Honestly I always pictured her as the swearing lady from the expanse.

It looks like they tried to make her that here, but the actress just isnt capable of doing it.

Honestly I’d second this too. There’s better things to do in life.

I’m tired of shows that try to make their hero faction so edgy and dark that somehow the genocidal aliens feel like the good guys.
