halo orion (game concept)

Halo Orion… a prequel game to the events of HCE, Reach, and Wars

So here is an idea and an excuse to make a classic style Halo game (even if it would be a smaller side project type of game). It would be mostly focused on multiplayer and have a different style campaign. Essentially the campaign plot would be about Project Orion soldiers participating in a few training missions somewhat like the war games seen in Forward Unto Dawn. The multiplayer would be fashioned in the image of HCE, H2, and H3. The game would also feature UNSC weapons, smaller multiplayer maps, Team Slayer, CTF, Rumble Pit. This would preclude vehicles, the Covenant, the Flood, Prometheans, their various weapons, and abilities. The game’s art design and locations would strictly adhere to looking natural or human created in origin, so no Forerunner or Covenant visual styles. Old Halo maps that were made in Forerunner or Covenant visual styles can be remade with a natural or human look to them. Here are some suggested maps and weapons that could be in the game.

Maps suggestions (based on original map name): Longest, Rat Race, Prisoner, Wizard, Battle Creek, Chill Out, Derelict, Chiron TL-34, Midship, Lockout, Ivory Tower, Gemini, Turf, Foundry, Guardian, Orbital, Narrows, Citadel, Snowbound, Boardwalk, Anchor 9, Power House, Condemned, and/or new maps

Weapon suggestions: AR, SMG, DMR, Shotgun, Pistol, Rocket launcher, Sniper Rifle, grenades (2 or 3)
Uncertain weapon suggestions: BR, grenade launcher, spartan laser, saw, sticky detonator

Other mechanics: No Duel Wielding, No Sprint, No clamber/mantling, No smart scope, No AAs, skill jumps, possible health/shields with health packs on map, limited nonfatal falling damage, radar, equipment(?)

Or you know, you could just do this in custom games.

So basically CoD or Battlefield. You have to think about how Halo distances itself from other franchises. I’m up for a spin off game, like ODST did, but it has to feel like you’re playing Halo. Still I like the creativity.
I have an idea for a spinoff, with inspiration from Red vs Blue, of a civil war game. I think Halo has milked the heck out of the Human-Covenant war. They had to introduce a rogue splinter group of Covenant in Halo 4 just so Chief could have something to shoot. What next? The peace treaty in broken and the war begins all over again? How about a refreshing story. How about lies and deception that bring the UNSC to the brink of demise. Secret organizations rising to power backed by powerful and influential politicians who lurk in the shadows. Will soldiers remain loyal to the UNSC or will they follow the money. Will colonies fall apart in the wake of war? Will the human empire crumble and bring about the demise of man?
I believe the creators have failed to take into account human nature when developing the Halo story line. They failed to realize the power of free will. Why is it that colonies, that are spread across the galaxy, have blindly followed the UNSC for so many years. Many of these colonies, when exercising the God-given right to choose, were put down by the UNSC when the dared to start a rebellion. The Spartan program’s very existence was to snuff the rebellion that started in colonies. It’s human nature to hold grudges and want revenge. What better time for the people to rise up than when the UNSC is weakened by a long war with an alien race. There will be many who will see the money to be made and the power to be gained in such a conflict. Alliances will be struck and severed as the galaxy is plunged into Civil War.
Do away with war games. There is no time for such “games,” there is only time for war. People have already witnessed and experienced war. They are hardened and want change or death. This new installment of Halo will feature a campaign, Spartan ops, as well as multiplayer. Multiplayer will no longer have such playlists as capture the flag and ricochet. Multiplayer will feature two forces, the UNSC and the Rebellion, trying to wipe each other out. Simple slayer, Big Team Slayer and some sort of Raid game.
