Only three months ago did I even learn about Halo: Online & it immediately peaked my interest. However, when I researched the game I was rather let down on the game as a whole. Sure, the prospect of a Halo game for lower end computers is neat, but overall the game is just ridiculous. It pretty much just uses a Halo 3 engine while trying to look like a new game & ridiculous weapon system. Then most of it’s maps are from Halo 3 as well, but they aren’t even remakes. Just original Bungie maps with 343i Spartan IV’s. There are only four new maps in the entire game. Two of which are remakes. These four are Diamondback, Edge, Icebox, & Reactor. But the most annoying factor about this game has had a beta that was only playable in Russia & apparently the finished project will only be for Russians too. My advice, dump the game & modify the maps for Halo 5: Guardians as a special map pack. Anyone else in agreement?
The other big problem is they made it exclusive to just Russia…like wtf?
Well actually from what I seen, its actually got an avid group of people playing it regularly in Russia. And have plenty of people there playing it also.
Whether that gets it here is unknown. But there is enough interest to keep it going in Russia regardless. Meaning it hasn’t flopped. It did the job it was meant too. And it is still in the Beta, so their is still a lot to go with the game.
Plus 343i and Microsoft are more just supplying the assets and lore they can use. Sabre Interactive and Innova Systems are the ones running the game and doing majority of the work. Meaning Halo Online isn’t taking away from Halo 5 or any other Halo project in any way. Its pretty much extra.
Plus any lore the game will give. Be sure we will get it. Grim will give it at somepoint in a canon fodder.
So its not the end of the world.
Stateside interest in Halo Online is a classic example of “the grass is always greener.” The only reason people here are interested is because they can’t have it. Why else would anybody want some garbage Halo 3 port that’s dumbed down to run on the equivalent of a Game Cube?

Actually, I think the Gamecube was better. LOL
However, you’re right on target. People want what they can’t have & what I want is those four maps.
Those damn communists…
Lol I’m jk pls don’t hurt me.
Can’t really say it flopped because it is still in beta… The game looks interesting and odd. It is currently only available in Russia, but I have yet to see a source that states it will stay exclusive to Russia upon release.
Its pretty fun tbh. I’ve never played MP due to it not being optimised for my average PC (Its in Beta afterall) but so far, it seems decent. Also mods galore!
Every Online based game has its drawbacks. Being that I have been gaming most of my life I have come to terms with this fact and became one with the bullcrap.
