After 9 years, guess what? We still haven’t gotten a Halo 3 PC port. Now this is just a suggestion, BUT what if there’s a Steam port of the original trilogy?
Now I know Microsoft has denied this several times in the past but I think now would be the perfect time to do it. You see,there wouldn’t be much competition… All of these games are incredibly old and basically don’t have much of a population left. This wouldn’t have any impact on Halo’s sales on the One unless they port something more new like Reach, Halo 4 or Halo 5 which most likely would have an impact as they still have pretty high populations.
It would just be something nice for us fans and the folks that can’t afford an Xbox.
I wish they would port Halo 3 to Steam because then it would live on and the community will grow. If they ever do port Halo 3 to steam, I wish they would add mod support so people can get Halo 5 weapons in Halo 3, or sprint, or custom made maps ( From scratch). Can you imagine Blood Gulch in Halo 3?

That would normally be due to not wanting any competition… Though with extremely low populations I don’t really see the problem with putting some of the older Halo’s on steam.

The only reason Halos are not on PC(I mean Steam) is because Microsoft is stubborn and would take more money and time to make i mean 343i had to cut back on old elite designs in Halo 5 because of resources do you think it would work out putting it on PC.

Source? I’m pretty sure 343i/Microsoft has said multiple times they are open to the idea of putting Halo on PC. Heck, Halo Online was the first step…a strange first step, but one nonetheless. Halo Wars 2 is coming to PC as well.
Really, at this point there aren’t many reasons not port the original trilogy to Steam. There’s very little population crossover, and the majority of Halo fans on Steam are old Xbox users anyway, so they’ll have stronger ties to Halo games (namely 1-3) that can’t really be milked for money anymore.
