Halo on PC

Do you think halo should make its way back on PC?

no

No, I just want to invite my bros over to play halo again even when the internet goes down.

Why not, especially if the mod community got involved… Man the results would be awesome.

Sorry no support from me

Yes. I would love this so much. Especially if it’s like Custom Edition. I still have a lot of fun with that.

I don’t see new titles moving over, but porting older games that aren’t getting consoles sold don’t have a negative. Port over Halo 3, ODST, Wars, and Reach. All its do is expand the community and give Microsoft more money.

The console would die if this happened. I would sell my xbox in a heartbeat.

I think anybody who doesn’t support Halo to go on PC is just being selfish. Realistically, there’s no downside to it for anyone in the community. As much some people pretend to be scared about the death of Xbox or splitting of the community, history has shown that those fears are entirely unfounded.

No it wouldn’t. It didn’t die in 2003, and it didn’t die in 2007. Heck, Halo PC and Halo 2 Vista didn’t even affect the popularity of Halo on consoles.

That was a different time. Halo and the Xbox are now both vulnerable and if Halo were to go on PC, the Xbox would lose it’s only major exclusive title (I say major because Halo has been responsible for carrying the Xbox since its inception). The numbers are already terrible for the console when compared to its competitors.

That was a different time how? Aside from Halo having a smaller portion of the Xbox userbase nowadays than back then, which incidentally means that any Halo players jumping to PC would impact the overall popularity of Xbox even less than they would’ve back then. Xbox may not have survived without Halo in 2003, but if you look at what games are popular now, Halo can hardly be held responsible for keeping the Xbox afloat nowadays.

But really, what has changed about people moving to PC? Console gamers didn’t exactly flock to PC when Halo PC released, neither did they do so when Halo 2 Vista released. What makes you think that console gamers would be more eager to jump ship nowadays? In fact, do you have any example of a situation where the release of a PC version of a game would have made the console version flop? As far as I can tell, the most popular games on Xbox seem mostly to be multiplatform, so I’m not at all convinced by your claims.

Yes. I can’t see how putting an awesome game onto PC is a bad thing. I really hope they put the following on PC, even though it’s never gonna happen: Halo 3, Halo 3:ODST, Halo Reach, and possibly the Master Chief collection. I would actually play Halo 5 if it had a PC version, since I don’t wanna pay for Gold. And I am kind of hoping that they don’t shut down Halo Online, because that’s probably the only way we’ll get Halo 3 multiplayer out of 343.

Ever heard of Halo Online?

Microsoft did say Xbox exclusives will be appearing on pc, I can see halo 6 going on pc and it wouldn’t bother me at all, I’d still get Xbox version because I don’t do pc gaming, along with many other people.

I hate to tell you this but the success of Xbox doesn’t come down to your own console…

wow, a lot of you are really selfish, the xbox would not die if halo, the shooter came to pc.
because;
a. casual players / hardcore consolers who prefer consoles would still buy the console + games. even those with multiple systems would most likely still buy an xbox.
b. microsoft would make even more money.
c. more players
there is simply no downside of halo on the pc again.
To keep spouting the “halo is mine, it stays on xbox” bs, you are the reason why we can’t have nice things. Grow up and get civilized.

There’s a chance that something for the pc might be announced this year at e3 or gamescom or both. All signs point to 2016 as a not just a console gaming year but also a windows 10 & pc gaming year, maybe something halo will factor in somewhere (that’s not wars related)
