halo of duty: SW 4

Just pointing out some of the changes that will be appearing in halo 4.

1.Spartan Ops

Like Spec Ops from Modern Warfare but with a storyline. [call of duty anyone?]

2.Sprint

So not only is sprint in the game, but it is a standard armor ability.[acceptable?]

3.Forerunner Vision

Ever wanted to be super man? Now you can! See through walls with your x-ray vision!
[what the hell!?]

4.Returning Armor Abilities

The hologram, jetpack, and active camo will make a return in Halo 4.

5.Elites Not Returning to Multiplayer

“Competitive multiplayer focues on the Spartan IVs. Elites will not be playable.” (Game informer)

6.Firefight

343 Industries has no plans to include a dedicated Firefight mode. [why!?]

7.Distraction Medals

Don’t feel bad anymore for not killing a single person in the game, you can get a medal for being a distraction!

8.No More Weapon Camping

One the skills that separated veteran players from inexperienced players was the ability to time power weapons’ spawns. In Halo 4, this will be near impossible. Weapons drop down in drop pods at random locations around the map.

9.No More Respawn Delay

Immediately after you die, by tapping the X button you are sent back into the match. Now let’s contemplate why this might be bad. Let’s say Halo spawns are… not so great. A skilled player out BRs/DMRs/whatevers a unskilled player. Now that unskilled player can immediately respawn and find you before your shields even regenerate!

10.Joining In-Progress Games

So to solve the quitting problem, 343 implemented the ability to join games that are in-progress.

So, what does the halo community think?
If my opinion will cause me to be banned or flamed, then I have no hope for 343.

okay then go play mass effect 3 no one will miss you.

spartan ops is not like spec ops its a own mode.
i like the abilitys like sprint, hologram, jetpack or the active camo.
the sprint is standart.^^

Its your choice to play halo 4 if you dont want to play it dont play it!

New-kid or fanboy?
Hard to tell. . .

AGREED. 343 doesnt care if you think its like COD. THEY are the ones making the game and they say it has its own voice and still feels completely like halo.

I will wait till i play the game my self to judge instead of being a blind hater like SOME people.

Invalid, I don’t like Mass Effect.

Its my choice to play HALO. Not a call of duty copy. If i wanted to play Cod, I would.

Spartan ops isn’t going to be like spec ops at all. If you read the GI magazine you should know that.

they should go back to the Roots of halo instead of trying all kinds of shenanigans… it’s going to be just like reach were people have stopped playing it because there is no rank, no fun, and it’s always the saaaaaame stuff.

Yeah no offense but Ive been told “it feels like previous Halos” since Halo 2 came out. Its never true.

Who said it’s like Spec OPS from MW? Have you never played Ghost Recon or Rainbow6 before?
And when you state something is from a place, why would you question a connection you just stated?

True.

It has about a 5’-10’ range, IF that. It’s been stated that situational aware players will probably feel it’s useless.

No Armor Lock!!

At least definitely in the beginning.

> 6.Firefight
>

That’s because Spartan OPS will allow FF-type missions AND more. Think of anything and everything you’ve done during a FF or Campaign mission, now think of every week or so getting 5 new experiences that mix things up in all degrees of those FF and Campaign encounters.

Sorta, if this an excuse for you to stop playing to win, I don’t think you’ve ever played to win in the first place.
If you play to play, then yes, don’t feel so bad that you can 't kill because supporting your team WILL reward your team with teamwork, and it will also reward Spartan Points for doing so.

That’s not how it works. In fact we haven’t been told how it works beyond that it isn’t as random as you just described. So at the very least, you are wrong. How does it work? Don’t know, I only know how it doesn’t work.

Depends on the gametype and the shield regeneration times. We know very little beyond that we will be able to spawn instantly if we choose. If we don’t spawn, we get kicked out.

And it will work great depending on the playlist. Intense Competitive Settings playlists like MLG probably won’t have insta-spawn. BTB and Objective… almost for sure.

To the OP

343 is not supporting firefight in Halo 4 because Spartan ops is replacing it. Firefight was just wave after wave of Covenant with no real structure to each mission. 343 placing a mission style structure to Spartan ops with weekly updates on which mission is featured is 343’s solution to the repetitiveness of the old firefight’s gameplay. A lot of questions you ask are answered in gameinformer. If you read the article in detail, the reasons why 343 are making specific decisions regarding the game are mentioned.

I like how the OP only points out one thing about Call of Duty and yet the title is Halo of Duty.
Frankie has said everything will be explained soon, most if not all of it coming from a sparkcast.

Just wait.

For a first post that was pretty sweet.
Welcome to Waypoint!

Why do people keep complaining about the Forerunner vision, it sounds nice to me, though I’m thinking about Metroid Prime X-ray vision as well.

A lot of this seems very little detailed, we need more clarifications before you can jump to conclusions. The weapons spawn probably will not be random, and still able to be timed. Just more difficult. Forerunner vision, I believe that is actually what 343 was talking about when they mentioned you would be able to see weapon spawns. You will not be able to see other players with the vision.

A cod copy? srsly? If Halo 4 will be a cod copy why cod copied halo?
Cod copied a lot of things from halo like infected, kill confirmed(headhunter)…

And i dont think that amour abilitys are copy from cod or do think it?

Stop comparing it to Call of Duty you -Yoinking!- annoying little -Yoink-. Have you even played Call of Duty.

Im really bloody excited for this now.

Why don’t you guys just accept her opinion. Most of the OP’s statements are true. I kinda annoyed that Elites won’t be returning to MM. So what if 5% of the population play as Elites, those 5% won’t be happy, imagine how they feel about this.

I won’t jump the gun yet, but from what I’m seeing, it’s not looking good. I want 343’s viewpoint on this and it better be a good one as to why they think these changes were necessary.

Thank you to ‘some’ people who have shed light on my frustrations and have helped me see its not all bad. But I’m not sure what to think still.

It just doesn’t feel like ‘Halo’.

You´re like the religious fanatic finding satanic references on everything.

Spartan Ops are just extra missions aside from campaign, CoD didn´t came up with that.

Sprint is better in all ways you look at it, it just need maps to have sprint in mind.

Spartan points…have you ever played CoD?, the customization it´s one of it´s best features, and Reach isn´t unbalanced, so i can say that it´s not going to damage Halo.

Omg… I have a question.
Did you ever played halo 4 to say this stupid comment?

Cant elites be in custom, WHY?
