For me Halo 3: ODST was one of the best additions to the regular games of the Halo series next to Reach and i would like to ask you all what you would think of a sequel ?
I know of course that according to the book series the ODST squad we play in Halo 3: ODST
did fall apart simply because some of the members died in missions and others became a new generation of Spartans e.g Buck in Halo 5 but they could continue the story line right after the first game and tell the story that will lead upon and use the story of the book so we get to play the missions where
the members died and relive how the squad fell apart.Would that be a game you would like to see or do you think that would be an unnecessarily add-on to the series?
I would like to see a covenant version of ODST (e.g. Halo : Covenant)
It could be a game that show the perspective of the war view by different species among the covenant
E.g.
The game could follow the story of three different convenant (a grunt, a jackal and a sangehili) fighting during the events of halo 2 and ending up meeting each other
The grunt die at the endThat being said, i would personally be really enthusiast to see a second ODST game
But please… No stories from halo 4 and 5

That would be awesome kinda like Rouge in the Assassins Creed series that showed the Templars view on the conflict.
That would open the door for lots of stories e.g how the Covenant came together or what happened after the ending of Halo 3.
Of course many details are already told by books, comics etc. but they would make an awesome game and should definitely be discussed by 343.

That would be an cool idea for a Covenant Halo title which could be implemented in a Covenant game series.
Maybe that would also take pressure of 343 since they could release Halo: Covenant games between the main series with the Master Chief and could take their time to perfect the main Halo games which would benefit all of us.
And since the Covenant, all due to what we know, is still pretty much a open book they should not have an problem with creating stories.
I was replaying ODST the other day, and it felt really different to all the other Halo games, but in a good way. It had a main character, and then you jumped into the shoes of who you where looking for, almost like a flash back. It was good change from playing as one character all the time.
But I really enjoyed Halo 2’s Arbiter missions. I hope that the Arbiter is a big part of Halo Infinite.
ODST is one 2nd favorite Halo game. I would like to see a sequel. If they make one, I feel like they’re gonna kill the Rookie though. After that -Yoink- announcement that he ‘died’
Does ODST have a good story line to the campaign?

Yes that would sadly be the case if the build the story on the books

Yes definitely!
If you did not play it yet i would strongly recommend you to experience it on your own

ODST by far had on of the best storylines I also enjoyed how they made it not about chief, Some of my favorite titles in the series were when we didn’t play as chief such as Halo Wars 1 and Reach as well.
this different perspective I would love to see as well.
The squad from Halo Wars 2’s Operation Spearbreaker DLC would be a good fit for a new ODST squad. They could even incorporate the old members of the original ODST squad (minus the rookie sheds tear). It would be great if it took place on the arc. Of course, that would mean the Spirit of Fire and its crew wouldn’t be able to participate in Halo Infinite
Another odst game would be cool
I think at some point, it would be somewhat refreshing to see another ODST focused game but I would prefer it being another ODST squad (or individuals brought together in chaos of war) over it being another story of alpha nine.
Reason being we mostly know how it went with alpha nine & new squad could give some artistic freedoms & give a chance to create new characters meaning no risk of completely changing an old character.
I always liked the focus on asymmetric warfare that odst brought. You were the underdog, using tactical skill and thinking to take down superior foes. I’d like to see a new campaign that focused on that aspect of odsts. With the Spartan 4s kicking -Yoink- in a very public and overt fashion, it would be nice to see the odst’s retreat into the shadows. Focus on covert ops, black ops, assassination, and ISR, where a Spartan team would be too conspicuous and high profile. Maybe even one that focuses on the resistance against the created, where odsts use guerrilla tactics to fight forerunner constructs and evacuate settlements. They can blend in with the civilian population far better than a seven foot tall Spartan could. Imagine going from planet to planet on ONI prowlers to gather resources and intelligence on a way to shut down the domain and beat the created, or to find some ancient weapon that the chief can use to finish the fight. I think it could be pretty badass.
An ODST/Marine flood horror style game
I would love to see another Halo ODST video game in future Halo installments. I can see Buck becoming the main character in the new Halo ODST video game.
I am so glad you guys are keeping this idea alive. Even if it’s DLC.

It is different. Playing in a city scene and as something other than Spartans is way different, but enjoyable. Hopefully the ODSTs return in Infinite and can look better than 343 has made them. The way Bungie created a futuristic city scene was amazing.
I’d like another. It should have more ODST helmets. I didn’t like picking between the characters styles- words like “extreme” or “flamester” and such would be more respected.
