With the coming of the new Xbox One, and the soon to be released Halo: the Master Chief Collection, one has to wonder, what is going to happen to titles like Halo Reach, and more importantly for this conversation, Halo 3: ODST? This is more speculation on my part, more than anything else, but with the momentum going on right now in the Halo Universe, with all these new expansions to the Universe, like through Halo Nightfall, the new Spielberg show, and the upcoming Halo: Spartan Strike, I’d like to believe that 343i is planning on revisiting past unfinished stories as well, like ODST and Halo Wars, (that’s for another conversation however) and a way I believe would be the most impactful is as follows: when the day finally arrives, and Halo ODST is finally delivered to us, I think, and I hope I’m not coming off as greedy here, the game should come bundled with a possibly remastered, maybe not, Halo 3 ODST, as well as the brand new Halo ODST sequel. With the new generation upon us, and the lack of backwards compatibility on the new consoles, many out their have no way of playing the original ODST before they get their hands on the (totally not announced yet) Halo ODST 2, and would generally love to either replay for a good recap beforehand, or play for the first time to introduce themselves to the story behind it.
Let me know what you think
I want and ODST 2 , Halo Wars 2 and they just announced a new spartan assault-like game
I agree, odst was a very fun and challenging game I think they should make “Halo 5 Odst 2” set I between halo 4 and 5
Indeed, I personally loved ODST and though not many play it now. I am expecting them to make another ODST game after Halo 5 because I am unsure how it’ll work if it takes place in between the two games.
ODST was actually pretty fun, my opinion anyway
I think ODST was a very underrated game. I legitamately had a good time with it. It was a great game, and offered much more story details than through the Spartan’s stories. You know, what’s the war like through the visor of a Helljumper. I think it would be great if 343i considered making another ODST game. Why not? I wouldn’t expect a big sequel any time soon, but anything is possible… Think about it. Halo 5: ODST. Or Halo 6:ODST. It’d be pretty awesome. I think it would be more likely after Halo 6, since that would be the end of another trilogy. Anyways, another ODST game. Hope it happens. (Plus, I really loved the ODST Helmet Variant. It’s my go to helmet. )
If they do make another odst game I think it should take place when the covenant turned on the unsc just before halo 4.
They could make a sequel to ODST after Halo 5 is released. It now seems as Microsoft strive to create a major Halo game every year, with smaller releases released within those intervals. It would definitely be a good way to expand Halo 5 and keep up playing. The only problem I see is that they would need a new direction. New Mombasa was destroyed, so we would need a new setting that fits alongside the Reclaimer saga. Perhaps it should be a spiritual sequel in the sense that it moves on from some of the themes of its predecessor.
I’d propose that ODST 2 stars Buck’s squad and have a city of Sanghelios as its primary setting, with a similar narrative to Halo 3: ODST, which involved the player triggering ‘clues’ to replay past events of other characters. I really like the Sanghelios setting because it takes us away from Earth for once and puts us on unfamiliar territory. The flashback narrative could connect to Halo 5 through helping the Agent Locke track down the Master Chief; it really could reveal some unexplored stories. Exploration sounds like an excellent theme to capitalize on.
I’d also like to see some changes to the core gameplay if more time will be invested in this. Make us feel more human than the original game. So we shouldn’t see Spartan Abilities/AAs, Equipment, Duel-Wielding and holding massive weapons like Gravity Hammers. Slow down character pacing, reduce jump height, increase fall damage and truly put us in the boots of a human. It would also be a good to create a stealth system for the game.
i would like an ODST2 but i’m not sure where it would fit in with the universe now since i’d be surprised if any ODST members hadn’t volunteer for the Spartan 4 program or the actual worth of ODST’s within the military now, so the story might be a bit shanky or need some serious tweaking to be as immersive as ODST1 was.
i imagine they are trying to kill off the ODST name now anyway, before we had 3 levels of soldier; Marines, ODST’s and Spartans, with only really one notable Spartan being really active (117), then in Halo4 we had Marines and Spartans, to make 117 top tier again he is now a “super” Spartan due to evolutionary enhancements by the Librarian, where does that leave ODST’s?
Yeah, that’s a tough one. I’m not sure how it would fit in either. It was neat playing as someone new!
A second odst game would be awesome. odst was a great game for me because it didnt give you that feeling that all your ai friends were weak and that you were invincible.
maybe in the second odst we play as the commander of an odst squad rather than the rookie.

They didn’t…
If you are referring the Storm Covenant, then they are a splinter faction. The main of the Covenant sides with the Arbiter, who has a tentative treaty with the UNSC.
If they do make a second part, it’d be interesting if they showed what happened after the events of the first game. Like exactly what happened to each member of the squad and where they are now.
If they were to focus on another ODST game they would probably have to do it with a different squad since rookie is dead (look at the lore) and Buck/most of his squad are now Spartans.
I think ODST 2 would be great
i have so many ideas for another Halo ODST game i would love there to be brutes though

Very, very angry
I would love Halo: Reach Anniversary. But as a separate game from TMCC. I would prefer to find a match when I play it and there’s too many games to spread the player base across so matchmaking is really slow
I would of rather had reach than ODST
