I was just thinking the other day how good Halo would be as a BR game mode through a side game, it would help get Halo more popularity again, bring in new fans, and Infinite could be more geared toward competitive play. We wouldn’t even need a story just a fun Halo experience.

I can perfectly see it, Halo has the best lore for BR. Have you played Apex? Totally different then Fortnite (which is for 5 year olds)

I’ve been fantasizing about this for a long time now. I really enjoy the Battle Royal gametypes. I’ve had a few thoughts:
-Drop in an ODST
-Replace the “storm” with The Flood. A gradual infestation of the entire map.
OR-Replace the “storm” with several Covenant Cruiser gradually glassing the map.
-Armor pickups would be pieces of Spartan armor. 3 pickups would make an entire suit: Legs, Torso, and Helmet.

You hit the nail on the head. That mindset is, what I think, the mindset is for most gamers. People hear “Battle Royale” and instantly think Fortnite. The gametype itself is an absolute blast to play. Seeing a Halo Battle Royale would be a real treat. With Apex taking off the way that it is, hopefully gamers will stop instantly associating the BR gametype with Fortnite.

It would be better to emphasize to create an even more novel game system and not to copy that of other games that have been for some time with the same

It wouldn’t be and not to mention, there would be no build mechanic so it wouldn’t be anything like Fortnite. I’d really like to see it happen but I guess time will tell. 343i continues to state that there won’t be a BR for Halo in the future.

Ooooof we got a bone thrown in that new Bonnie Ross video. Again I hope it’s not a main Halo game rather, just a spin off or like a Halo 5.5 they were contemplating about.

I mean, it could just be a gametype in Halo Infinite just like Warzone and Firefight are gametypes in Halo 5: Guardians.
No. Battle Royals have a massive tendancy to not be fun. As in, at ALL. Now maybe a firefight like what you described. It would be cool to integrate controllable Drop Pods again. But not a BR. Please never a BR.
Maybe if it were like a free DLC for the game. But not an actual part of the game. Fortnite turned into a breeding ground for bad videos and took out great YouTubers like LTN. PUBG isn’t really that great of a game. Anthem’s getting lots of backlash (especially for one of the suits in the ads. It looks an awful lot like the new Cyclops mechs). And Apex is probably not that good. Just about none of the Battle Royal games have ever gone without backlash and none have ever been good.
