Halo now has less players than Destiny 2

or rather issues that just popped up and will get fixed not everything you say has to involve the they made bad on purpose not even bug that shows up in the game is someones doing ya know

can you be a bit more specific?

thats your books not everyones okay? iff you have issues thats fine their your issues just dont blanket everyone into one pile on the issues part

I think people also forget that when Halo 3 came out there was no hugely dominant FPS or shooting games. Gears of War was pretty popular and that was about it? People played CoD 3 but Call of Duty didn’t became huge until CoD4 which hadn’t been released yet. The PC gaming scene had been outpaced by the Console market and hadn’t yet made a comeback.

And the marketing and hype for Halo 3 - the end of the Trilogy and end of the Halo story. It was marketed the same way a huge Blockbuster Film series might have been. In a more naive time where we all thought video game franchises could and would have Trilogies and then end lol.

Now we’re completely drowning in shooting games,Free to Play games and Battle Royale games.

inb4 people hop on this post saying things are perfectly fine when twitch viewership is at 15k and steam charts at 45k active user.

Yes, some issues will pop up, but those issues are not what’s actually affecting the game. It’s the deliberate poor actions that took place from 343/Microsoft that is actually affecting the entire game.

Once that reality sets in, normal issues that pop up aren’t really going to be anyone’s concern.

insane numbers compared to Halo 4/5…

In reality though Infinite is just not a very fun game to watch compared to BR’s… Things are too predictable, not enough variety on a game by game basis. Most popular streamers are all Pro players, which tells me that the game has virtually no interest outside of competitive/HCS.

More ranked playlists would be great! And a battle pass/store rework, anti cheat or the ability to turn off cross play in groups bigger than 2 would be good too.

Halo 4 & 5 were DOA.

I’m a competitive player, i reached ONYX week 1.
I AM TIRED of everything being so tryhard.

Like i want to relax and play a game of zombies. race my friends. enjoy the sense of community halo was built on. The game is pretty good but no where near the standards most of us come to expect.

If we are to really get our first batch of content in march infinite stands no chance.

*m not blanketing anyone for LITERALLY EVERYONE is stating there opinions on the matter.
Don’t make assumptions child.

I can say the same for you, but I and no one else isn’t.
It’s simply stating facts.
@Spr0_The_GOAT is stating a fact, the stats are up for you and everyone to look up.
These stats give an insight to the rise, decline and what direction Infinites population and popularity is heading to.

The game DCUO has a better Micro-transaction system and cosmetic unlock system than Infinites. That game came out in 2011 and its outlasted EVERY COD game, a VAST majority of games on PC, Playstation, Xbox and has outlasted every Halo game due to the devs actually giving a **** for its player base ; There opinions, concerns and feedback.
Im sure the game has a higher population than Infinite and the devs just banned 800+ players last week.
Destiny 2 will outlast Halo Infinite if 343 Industries doesnt step it up and make massive changes within the next 3 - 6 months.

I doubt that like alot

I like how you ignored how DE never had the resources as 343 actually does.

I like how when I responded directly to your stupid DE comparison, and dismantled the rest of your stupid posts, you ran away and mumbled that you weren’t talking to me anymore

think that guy wont listen to reason thinks that the major issues were done on purpose which I doubt very much

Did you know cross core customization Is available on the game, we are just locked out of it by 343

Well locking players out of cross core customization was done on purpose. The bots have the feature available but players do not

It did suffer a 40% population loss at some point, though I think that point is lost to time. It would’ve looked far different however, the population would’ve been more than perfectly viable at 700k.

Infinite is slipping and slipping fast, though population stats did stay pretty stable up till the playlist/gamemode update when BTB took a hit. Players seemed to tolerate the smaller issues and even stick it out through the storefront/progression controversy, it’s pretty clear players wanted to like the game. But when part of a game becomes unplayable, it does ruin the fun. If the issues can be fixed quickly enough within the next few weeks, I think you’ll see a slow resurgence in population sizes.

They definitely aimed high, but I think this was less of an ego trip and more of a “bit off waaaaaay more than they could chew” scenario. Halo 5’s ViDoc releases and marketing was a massive ego trip, every video hyping up the experience and literally bragging about the production of the title. Halo Infinite by comparison was hush hush and very limited in details, which is also why some players and prominent voices were bringing up concern. It’s really two extremes on opposite ends of the spectrum, one that expresses too much and one that doesn’t express enough.

Truth be told, the live service model was most likely the only path they could take for a few reasons.

  1. A traditional box release was most likely not going to generate enough revenue to cover the reported $500mil cost of this title. Especially based on the player counts both at peak and what we’re seeing now.

  2. This one is based on another player’s comment here, but Infinite really was 343’s last chance to sell the community on their ability to develop a worthwhile Halo title. Making it a live service F2P model was their way of allowing players to give the next Halo experience a try without shelling out a full $60 and then leaving in droves never to return when if it was another 4 or 5.

  3. If this game launched in a traditional $60 box fashion in the state it was in/is in now, hooooly garbanzo beans would it have been a disaster even more controversial than the controversy we’ve already seen.

Halo 3 alternated with CoD for the #1 or #2 most played game on Xbox live for 3 years.

It didn’t suffer major population drops until Reach came out.

I think thats more of a higher up coming in and messing it up and now getting the backlashf or his or her or it’s mistake

Are you really sure it’s a “Halo” thing and not a “Destiny 2 just launched one of it’s best pieces of content ever with a major expansion coming up in Feb.” thing?

This is what happens when you hype a game for years and then release an unfinished mess, of course people are leaving.
