I don’t know why they did that, I hear people saying it’s so you can’t trash talk the enemy team, but then all I have is MY team trash talking, really think it hurts the community to limit communication, regardless of whatever pretense you put forth.
I can agree with this, but there are some things that leave me wondering, where are the maps? Game types? Forge? I don’t mind Co-Op being delayed as there are a metric ton of issues that probably come with open worlds, but why was forge delayed? I wouldn’t be so disheartened by it, but 343i has been really hush hush about the whole thing.
I have to agree with this. Just looking at what they said was to be expected and what we got so far doesn’t even come close to adding up. I’ve posted this already but it is the truth. 343 had all the resources they needed and they even outsourced a lot of work. HTH is this game still in Beta mode with just about 90% of the game in what we used to get missing from this game?
Then I take a look at small companies like Digital extremes that works on Warframe that doesn’t have the resources as 343 does and can’t help but think how incompetent 343 actually is. DE puts this AAA gaming company to shame and what, they have 300 employees. That’s pretty damn bad that a small company like that can do a hell of a lot better work.
i dont disagree. halo 5 movement and core gameplay was incredible, and giving everyone the same jet back ability was just simpler and worked. but halo 5 customization packs were a huge money grab.
Warframe was a disaster at launch, I love how if a game comes out as a trainwreck, and fixes it in like 2 or 3 years, then everybody pretends that the game was exceptional when in reality Warframe was trash.

Warframe makes money hand over fist and they can, and often, do whatever they want. Look at all the failed systems that they burned money on. Lunaro, their entire PvP arena system, archwing missions, railjack… I’m sure I’m forgetting something.
I bought the founder packs the year that Warframe entered it’s super early access. It took years for that game to become even remotely passable. Then it became great. Then it became a bloated mess.
Microsoft if youre reading this by any chance, its time to face reality, its time to Cut the dead weight (343 Industries) so that Halo can finally prosper. over the years 343i has proven themselves too incompetent to manage this franchise.
@Madinogi The only people I see claiming Infinite is a failure are on this forum. By every objective metric, the game is currently doing just fine.
Actually, it’s not. When any company (goes out of their way to play off any player base weakness) that is being a predator, and it’s disgusting that 343 stooped this low to sell their product with all the false promises to get players on board with the BP/pre-orders.
343 has shown they are a compulsive liar and their words are not to be trusted at all, because their actions literally speak a hell of a lot louder than their words.

You can use all the stupid platitudes you want, but I’m gonna need you to define what it means for a company to “go out of its way to play off any player base weakness.”

Like when they said they were working on challenge improvements weeks ago and then boom: they dropped a fairly significant update to how their challenge system works? Like how they said they were listening to feedback regarding rewarding match score and then boom: they implemented a bandaid fix to have score related challenges before the holidays? Like how they said they’re looking at feedback regarding free vs monetization and boom: they changed the Tenrai event to have more free cosmetic options and also apologized for the misleading marketing?
What Trand0 says here is a good piece of context. You can’t compare the launch of a 2007 console only game with a 2021 multiplatform game launch for several reasons; it will never be a “fair” comparison. I also fail to see why this matters, personally.
Player pop is not an end all be all, especially in 2021/2022. New games come out just about every other day, each promising to “bigger and better” than the last. Casual gamers will check a game out for a while and then move on. Fans of an IP will stick around off and on and the “hardcore” will play consistently over time. Populations will rise and fall.
As far as the comparison to Destiny 2 vs Halo Infinite - you are comparing apples and oranges here. They are completely different games and do not necessarily appeal to the same types of players. Sure, there is overlap, but that doesn’t mean it’s “bad” or “good” if one has higher pop than the other.
Destiny 2 is an action adventure MMO and Halo Infinite is an arean MP shooter. Destiny 2 has the player base that it does because of the type of game it is and who that sort of game appeals too. Not because Halo Infinite is or isn’t doing something right or wrong.
But at the end of the day - why do you care about player pop? Does this dictate the fun and enjoyment you have in a game?
Yet, 343 had since Halo 4 was in production, and mind you, DE didn’t have a huge bank backing them up, and all the other resources that you left out that 343 literally has at their disposal for over a decade now. There is no way in hell you even have the right to compare games in how they launched.
Maybe think before you make a reply because you didn’t say anything at all that helped with your weak at best argument.
