Here’s a better question…is 343i blocking content from the base game and making it impossible to play content that’s been there since Halo 1? yes and is it earnable in-game? no. So yeh it’s forced and I supported the game by buying the campaign which would have been bundled with the multiplayer. Not everyone wanted this to be forced into a predatory F2P and 343i know this.
Halo 5 was Yoink and hated by many players, myself included. It wasn’t even remotely, good, it was worse than halo 4
No, I want you to answer my question since you’re so intent on using the word “predatory”. Is anyone actually FORCING YOU to make purchases? Do you NEED to make purchases in order to progress in the game? Is money being literally stolen from you?
Rationally the answer to all of those is no. No one is forcing you to do a damn thing. It is not predatory, the shop is being revisited, settle down, have a cup of tea, have some patience, and don’t be so dramatic.
You know what…yeh I’m going to keep calling it predatory because that’s what it is
Okay cool. So every game with a straightforward in-game store is predatory. If that’s your standard, then I don’t care if literally everything is predatory.
Blocking content from the base game
I don’t know what this means. What content is blocked from the base game?
trying to charge a ridiculous a stupid amount for a lazy basic color swap that anyone with any basic editing skills can do is not only predatory but it is insulting and I’m amazed how people defend stupid things like this and then come out with any rationalise ‘stupid’ nonsense to try justify there insane logic.
Color swaps are way overpriced. I agree. An optional cosmetic that has no bearing on gameplay doesn’t become predatory when it’s overpriced. Also, try and break up your sentences with punctuation. It helps.
Shame you can’t be mature enough to have a proper conversation Done replying to you any further based on your recent toxic behaviour.
Oof. I take it you’re upset that I pulled up the receipts when you said some stupid crap about me blindly defending 343, eh?
Umm let’s see nothing is ‘forcing’ us to pay for cosmetics and yet content was ‘forcefully’ removed from the base game. Trying to generalise “needs” is a bit ridiculous…since it implies apologetic excuses for someone trying to make excuses for a company doing any predatory systems.
Hell as far as I’m concerned content was ‘stolen’ from many of us from the base game just so people can justify other people getting ‘free’ content while blocking access and that is important to many of ‘us’ and I couldn’t careless if a few random people think it’s not important. The more you justify predatory systems the more companies think they can get away.
Also this is the same company that lied about the progression system and many were expecting things like unlockable armour via challenges like Vidmasters but instead a majority of the content was blocked by BP so don’t try to act like they didn’t force any of us. Tell me why should I trust anything 343i says? The fact that people are straight up denying this makes them seem untrustworthy.
Ok looking at steam charts
halo infinite
https://steamcharts.com/app/1240440
Currently has a 32k players at a low point, with 62k players at a high point.
this is on Steam only which is around 1/3rd of the players as the game is on microsoft store and Xbox, lets say the Xbox one is a bit lower do to ammount of players so at an educated guess.
I would ay 75k Player at the low with 150k players at the high
now lets look at destiny two
https://steamcharts.com/app/1085660
currently has 59k players at its high point for the day with 69k as the 24 hour high point. unlike halo it has 5 sources meaning we can assume it has at the low in 400k players.
now come the fun part.
Destiny 2 is an MMO, which is designed around long term play where you have to play over months to get all the content where halo infinite is a PvP combat game lets compare to another popular PvP combat game with progression.
Now my choices here are limited by knowledge but will use CS:GO and Battlefield 2042. these are choosen as they are halo’s main competition on steam for player base.
2042 which has 3 sources of play has 18k player 24 hour peak, which is a lot more dead then halo. Keep in mind it and vangaurd are the main AAA comp right now, but not the main long term as both those are on life support already while halo is getting ok numbers.
[2042 steam charts](https://steamcharts.com/app/1517290)
The last comp is CS:GO, now this one isn’t going to be close as wiht out even looking at the charts I know CS:GO has 750k players average.
https://steamcharts.com/app/730
Now you all maybe wondering what does this info mean.
It means well you can’t cherry pick data as with all of this I can make the game look as good or as bad as I Want.
Right now halo is in its intro weeks, still with a respectable player base for an online PvP game Keep in mind the average steam game gets a player base around 3-7k on a daily. halo having 62k on its daily peaks means it is pretty good.
the average MMO type game like destiny 2 or CS:GO though has a much high player base then a standard PvP arena.
now IF we just state the facts, yes Destiny two is doing better then halo, it will do better then halo there is no saying it will not it is a long established game that has had an active playerbase for a few hears and keeps up the content.
Halo is a good game and will likely get a respectible base with time and changes hell it has one now. But right now the game was sabatoged by release date.
Releasing in december means any bugs or major changes that are needed can’t be done for a month or two. This means it was rigged to fail and yet it is still doing ok.
this means in the long run with tweaks halo is going to stay alive.
Also to the idiots above saying that it is deader then MCC. it isn’t. MCC has 10k player peaks split across 5 games don’t bother.
https://steamcharts.com/app/976730
Halo 4 had that large of a dropoff? Damn. I knew it was bad but them numbers are absurd.
Yeah but Infinite should also have 6 years of content too.
The insane amount of wait and hype for a game that basically has very little (in comparison to the rest of the franchise) is just disappointing. Obviously 343i can release more stuff, but the reality is that how many people will even be here (as in on Infinite, not the forums lol) in 1 or 2 years time?
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ this folks I dont think ifninte is gonna be dead its gonna have ups and downs of player count but it’ll still be alive and kicking
You should be more specific, Halo definitely has more players than Destiny 2.
Halo Infinite has less than Destiny 2 (according to steamcharts I’m guessing?) which isn’t the full playerbase
Wunderbar, glad we’ve cleared that up.
Content can’t be “forcefully removed” that wasn’t there in the first place. Your (quite foolish) mistake is comparing Halo Infinite to past games, expecting it to be something it’s not in a very unconstructive way. Not to mention obstinately refusing to acknowledge that it is being worked on.
They’re not. You established this above.
I don’t give a Grunt’s squeaky who you trust. Doesn’t make anything you’re saying rational or reasonable.
Your problem is you are trying to appeal to rationality when people are frustrated with a problem that isn’t actively being fixed at the moment.
The most rational argument will not work when people just want something to not be there. Give it time right now nerves are high and we are waiting for changes.
Topics like this will appear and continue to until people calm down, which is going to take a while and a few major changes.
Hate to use it as an example but Look at no mans sky. Irrational action can lead to people saying something is dead when it will burst back the way they wanted it in the first place. Action takes time and people don’t think in long term.
Oh, but it is. We have been told this. No one can force anyone to believe that, but we have been told this. Frustration does not excuse unconstructive obstinance.
Clearly you only want to hear what you want to hear. You’re clearly trying to pretend like I’m agreeing with you.
You missed the point by at the moment I mean today or this week, it will not be fixed till next month at the earliest.
Y’know. You’re right. No point debating in circles, so ya’ll have a party raging over nothing. I’ll just go back to playing Infinite and having fun. Ciao.
lmao let’s really deconstruct this, “Five years of content SINCE launch”. No game, NO game, launches with six years of content.
Oh, i doubt we will ever get a lifetime stats page…Microsoft doesn’t want things to be too competitive.
I tried logging on this site and seeing mine as i could in the past, but it is gone.
Can’t let anyone see how well or bad anyone is doing anymore.
I can’t even believe the ability to chat is still here.
Speaking of chat…as soon as I saw the chat box, I wondered if it would be similar to battlefield and allow text chat between teams…I should have slapped myself for even getting excited.
We aren’t even allowed to ever talk to who we go against or repair up for a rematch etc.
Those days are long gone as per Microsoft’s agenda of effeminization of the human population.
Two - series S and X - there’s loads of S’s about.
ok so by your logic we should wait another 5 years before Infinite has enough content?
My point was that we’ve already waited 6 years… So having to wait longer for the game that we wanted is painful.
I haven’t played the game in about a week, the game is already extremely boring in my opinion… How long do I have to wait until the game is fun to play? I know you personally cannot answer this, I’m simply stating that lots of people already moved on and will continue to move on until Infinite rebounds.
Multiplayer was lauded as the best of the series. If you didn’t like it nobody cares what you think. Halo 5 campaign was rough there is no doubt. Halo 4 campaign was excellent. Multiplayer not as much.
Say hi to your mother for me when she brings you a hot pocket for lunch.
