Halo now has less players than Destiny 2

Yeah I get that but it’s a new market for halo and the majority of Steam users aren’t established halo fans so loyalty won’t exist. Bad release will equal - tossed into the cemetery of games that nobody cares about…

Do you really think that? Your crazy, Halo ce and halo2 released on Pc a year after there release I got into halo from halo ce PC… Halo CE PC even had content that was cut from the xbox version due to time and game size constraints… Also some people can’t afford both an Xbox series X and a PC… so for some people it being on PC is the ONLY way they can play it.

It was something that was bound to happen. 343/Microsoft just butchered a legacy of an iconic franchise on the face of the earth by just putting business interests before everything else. There are other games out there that mop the floor with halo infinite. I really don’t care about this game anymore.

343’s tradition is crapping out a game, ignore playerbase and the game dies. They tried being smart making the game f2p but it made it worse.

343’s first game started out with 411,000 players and ended with 6,000 players in 6 months

But then again brings us to another problem. Halo should be capped at 60 FPS. If they’re going to continue to force cross play. They really need disable cross play. We can go into the whole PC cheater thing. But when you get into onyx most people nowadays are running 140 FPS or 240 refresh monitors blah blah blah. And there’s only one Xbox they can run 120 fps. And that’s if you can find it.

I don’t think its even 6 months. More like 2-3 months.

I meant Halo 4’a playerbase went from 411,000 to 6,000 in 6 months. The game was garbage.

Given a fair amount of the feedback I’ve seen specifically from PC players, I’d say another issue is that they’re going to games that are better optimized for PC and KBM. Let’s not pretend that games with crossplay that allow for as much advantage as possible to KBM aren’t going to draw that crowd, and there has been quite a bit of feedback on the topic from some pretty upset PC players.

I also hear that PC players using contollers get waay more aim assist and bullet magnatism, If that even exist on console, which from what i heard is minimal if it’s even there.

I watch the steam stats every other day or so and numbers have been steadily dropping. I’m just waiting for the fabled 4 figures that MCC sits at before I can confidently say that 343 killed the game before it even had time to learn how to walk.

Still the majority of players are on Xbox - always will be. More accessible. Maybe that will change but for now. Xbox is king hahhaha

It’s a 1k player difference and Destiny 2 has like five years of content.

I wonder if there will be another industry crash at this rate.

  • If HCS / Esports isn’t the focus, Infinites population is going to drop.

  • If there isn’t new content dropping monthly, then the population is going to drop.

( In game shop items isn’t new content, Its content cut from the season pass and the current game out now. )

  • If the complaints of the MASSIVE FLAWS to Infinite continue to be ignored ; THEN YEAH, the population is going to continue to plummet.

Eventually those who are defending Infinite, will soon jump ship and start calling 343 Industries out to address the Micro-transactions and lack of content issues.

It’s only a matter of time.

  • The deniers did it with Halo 5, they did it with the MCC and there bound to do it again… There called hypocrites. There pride and bravado blinds them to the long term effects and issues at hand.

It’s a long road ahead for 343 Industries, but no road map to keep the Halo population stable, then the Halo community will resort to just playing other games again and Infinite will be a husk as The Master Chief Collection was during the first couple years.
I have faith though, but my complaints, just like everyone else’s are valid.

1: This ain’t it chief. Destiny 2 has one ranked playlist that is only available during the weekend while Halo Infinite has a permanent Ranked playlist. The playlist number is not it.

2: How do you know which game has higher number of players? Are you adding PlayStation, Xbox and PC numbers? Because by default Halo will have less overall players because it is not on PlayStation. Is this PC only numbers because you can see that on steam? Or is it the absolute unknow number of players on Xbox?

True. I’m waiting to see how this post-holyday update will do.

We are a Halo family here. Dad, Mum and daughter, we certainly agree with this.

Halo Infinite has the worst rank system I have ever played tbh.

Didn’t read the entire thread but this is a bad comparison.

Destiny 2 is a completely different game than Halo. Sure it’s a shooter, and that’s it. The Destiny 2 playerbase are grinding instances, running around in the open world, collecting armors, collecting materials, going for completionist stuff, doing raids, doing events, hanging out and enjoying the gunplay, doing missions, quests, bounties and PVP.

Halo playerbase does the campaign once, and then does PVP. Ofcourse the numbers will be skewed to Destiny 2. If you want a somewhat decent comparison take only the PVP’ers from Destiny 2 and compare that to Halo Infinite.

Hot take, I understand wanting to crap on Halo Infinite but at least understand statistics properly before spouting your nonsense on the forums. You’re dilluding the waters that have some actual decent posts that need attention.

This right here is why the replay value for the campaign is getting trashed on. The campaign isn’t worth $60.00.
Multiplayer isn’t worth playing if you knock out the season pass and don’t have anything to unlock by just playing the game without dropping money on the shop. So the replay value for multiplayer is getting trashed on for this reason, along side with weapon balancing, crossplay, the playlist and challenges. 343 Industries incentive to keep players hook is based on the micro-transactions and the in game shop ; That is the only thing they are choosing to prioritize.

The replay value for Halo Infinites multiplayer is how much money you’ve dropped on the game.

So the comparison is pretty telling and valid.
